Minor League Hockey Shake-up...coming

I’d love to know who blinked there.  Chicago didn’t have an attendance dip but they were horrid with a bunch of retreads.

So now that the Coyotes have moved to Utah, what's the word on the Utah Grizzlies? I don't think an ECHL team will be able to compete for attendance with an NHL team.

I could see them becoming NHL Utah's affiliate once an agreement is available.

This is what I see happening. I don't see the Grizzlies anywhere, except for maybe to the AHL to be Utah's main farm team.

Dumb Tahoe team affiliates with the Dumb Vegas team

Oh, cool. I hate the owner, I hate the name, and I HATE the affiliation. I was mildly excited to have pro hockey in my town, despite it being a totally dumb:censored: idea that won’t last more than a season or two. Now, though? HARD pass on all of this.

Tahoe is an example of a bad identity executed fairly well. Horrible name, probably the worst in the league, but a decent logo for it. I like the colors and their shield alt logo, even if it is a little busy. The name is easily the worst in the league, granted.

If you're judging them against the other ECHL offerings, I think they easily land in the top half of the league. Granted that's more of an indictment of how poor many of the ECHL team kits look than it is an endorsement of Tahoe's look. AA hockey has some great identities (Savannah, Florida, Orlando, Maine, etc.), but there are a lot of bad/boring ones too (Jacksonville, Bloomington, Wheeling, Adirondack, Tulsa, Rapid City, Iowa, etc.)

All said, I don't think they're likely to be here in 5 years, so this'll be a blip.
