HedleyLamarr
So the Tigers get swept out of the playoffs despite having Cy Scherzer, Cy Verlander, and Cy Price starting their three games.Gee, looks like a lot of playoff outings by the Braves..... FiddySicks
Well. This is about as good as the ALDS could've possibly gone. This just HAS to be balanced out by a Giants Cardinals NLCS. The pitching has been fine. Outside of today, the pitching has been just fine. The Angels flaw? 1 for 18 with men in scoring position. ONE. FOR. ING. EIGHTEEN.It's some sick twisted joke that the game that Trout and Pujols both homer (solo ing homers, mind you), is the day that the pitching falters.Best record in baseball, highest scoring team in baseball, and not a goddamn thing to show for it.---EDIT: 1-for-20... Kramerica Industries
Angels on the verge of becoming the fifth team in nine years from the American League to have the best WP% and be a one-and-done playoff team.By all means, however, this is a system we are supposed to embrace in baseball. Sure thing, Bud. This isn't bad for the game at all.
The_Admiral
The Royals were the first wild card and won their play-in game. That A's game may as well have never happened. They're not doing anything teams haven't been doing over the last twenty years. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

Sure thing, Bud. This isn't bad for the game at all. Baseball can go the route of NHL and MLS and award a trophy for having the best regular-season record. So then they'd have something to show for their efforts, But if the best teams can't win best of three against the worst of the playoff qualifiers, I'm not sure why we should be particularly upset they're out in the first round. 1 hour ago, ShutUpLutz! said: and the drunken doodoobags jumping off the tops of SUV's/vans/RV's onto tables because, oh yeah, they are drunken drug abusing doodoobags
Still MIGHTY
1-for-21 w/ RISP...---And yeah, I'm not mad at the system or at baseball or any of that. KC would have been the regular wild card had there been no play-in, like admiral said. The only thing there is that as we're seeing in just about every sport now, it's whoever is hot at the right time, not necessarily who is the best. Look in the last decade at those Cardinals World Series wins, LA Kings Stanley Cups, New York Giants Super Bowls. The only sport where this isn't the case is the NBA.It's not necessarily being the best team. It's being hot at the right time and beating the teams presented to you. There's nothing here for the Angels to blame other than playing like absolute . They weren't screwed by the system or anything like that. They just played like absolute garbage.---Also, how the hell is this game only in the 6th? Three hours in and it's only the 6th? Just kill me, baseball. | ANA | LAA | LAR | LAL | ASU | CSULB | USMNT | USWNT | LAFC | OCSC | MAN UTD |

Kramerica Industries
I have impulses on this subject that are hard to control sometimes. I must apologize for that. And, FWIW, there's nothing wrong with a Kansas City-Baltimore ALCS and I'm hoping I didn't imply that there was, because that would've been really stupid on my part to actually say that. DG_ThenNowForever
Unless you're winning to accept a single table, teams peaking at different times is a consequence of a playoff system.Again, you could create some kind of regular season championship, but I don't know what you'd do with it. 1 hour ago, ShutUpLutz! said: and the drunken doodoobags jumping off the tops of SUV's/vans/RV's onto tables because, oh yeah, they are drunken drug abusing doodoobags
