Honest question: when was the last time Adidas came out with an original uniform either for regular use or as an alternate that didn't look :censored:ing awful?

I know they've had programs who they've outfitted in pre-existing traditional uniforms and they didn't completely :censored: it up (Nebraska's regular unis, Wisconsin, Michigan, etc.), but I can't think of one alternate or new regular uniform of theirs that I didn't hate.

Texas A&M is the only uniform I can think of off the top of my head that isn't terrible.

Mississippi State as well

Except for the pants.
The new ones are just based on a traditional (throwback) design. Adidas basically just altered a few elements and adopted it to a modern template. The ribbon-stripe uniforms worn from 2012 through last year though were actually an example of a decent original Adidas design. It was a good concept, but like usual lacked good execution in a few areas and, most importantly, was WAY too similar to Texas A&M. But above average for Adidas.

The jerseys are a throwback. The pants are not. The logos that wete on them originally are owned by Nike and weren't that big.

Well yeah, no kidding. My point was that the current Mississippi State uniforms don't fit as an answer to the question asked in the original post. The old ones, however, did.

Finally! First time since 2010 and only the 2nd time since 2005 they've worn orange/blue/orange.

Really?! Illinois should be Orange/Blue/Orange, IMO. It's a perfect look.

Yeah, they said that in the tweet after the picture of the uniform combo. I knew Zook preferred white pants, but I was shocked it's only the second time in ten years they've worn orange pants with the blue jerseys.
That was shocking to read. However, does it count if the bottom part of the helmet is gradient navy?

I only caught a bit of the highlights, but has the orange helmet always had that? The orange color of the (chromed?)helmet always looks off compared to the rest of the uni, but if it's always had navy gradient, then they might be better off with the white helmets.

There's no navy gradient on the helmets. You were probably seeing a reflection from the navy jerseys. The color of the helmet can also look different depending on how the light hits it.

Yeah, once I saw the picture above, I realized that what I saw on TV must have been a reflection. There's a hint of it in those pictures. Thanks.

Helmet still looks a bit too "rust" orange to me, but glad there's no blue gradient.

NC State uniforms are good, but they don't really have a design element. The font works, though.

I was about to come over to post this, but this is neither confirmed nor denied. The picture was taken back in the spring, and it could have just been something another person made.(Look how close the paw is located close to the earhole) Now, that tweet was a little cryptic, and could be a sign. But, for all I know, there haven't been any others. The chances of it being worn is 10/90. Honestly, I'd be shocked if they come out in chrome, and unless the equipment staff pull something out of a seemingly transparent bag, expect the normal helmet. As you could tell by the comments in the link, the fans aren't really on board, and that's a fairly big deal.

Keep in mind Twitter has been wrong before, too. If y'all are still worried, here's a link on the team's official page where the regular helmet is displayed prominently:

Not a real Clemson helmet.. Made by Clemson-based facemask reconditioning specialists Green Gridiron

Also, it's written in the University's bylaws that you can't mess with the football helmet. I'm not kidding. My brother is one of the biggest Clemson fans I know. He's plugged into things like that. Weird dude, but you gotta respect a place that goes that far to protecting one of the most sacred things about Clemson.

1. Don't mess with Howard's Rock

2. Don't mess with the Hill

3. Don't mess with the helmet

That Clemson helmet circulated early this summer. Don't fall to Facebook subscription hoaxes guys. C'mon now.

Facebook is always full of relevant, accurate information. What are they putting in the water down in Alabama? <_<

Bama's 15 championships.

If Nebraska claimed all our "unclaimed" National Titles from sources other than Coaches/AP/BCS, we'd have 14 instead of the 5 legitimate titles we actually own.

Looking at you, Tide & Irish.

Notre Dame doesn't either, do they? They only claim three national championships from before the AP poll, and I'm not sure any of those are disputed as they were undefeated in each (they share one with a Pitt team that lost in the Rose Bowl). The rest of the national championships the university claims were because they finished atop the AP poll.

Bama, though, claims a title from a year in which they finished 9-2 and finished 20th in the AP poll and one in which they, as #1, lost their bowl game to #3 Notre Dame but still claim the title.

@11W @sportslogosnet possible early leak of the OSU blackout jerseys?

CQGrF8fW8AEZ8Nm.jpg

I found this online and tweeted this out to CCSLC and Eleven Warriors

OSU is expected to release black uniforms this friday for the Penn State game

The color in that photo looks more red than orange (just the exposure, obviously), but for a minute I thought it was a throwback for Oregon State.
