rvrdgsfn
Good news out of the Ottawa Sun. Looks like a decision on the Coyotes is imminent by the league. And the owners as expected are pushing for relocation because they're sick of subsidizing Bettman's failure. It'll either be Quebec or Seattle depending on what the NBA does. So yeah Seattle could be a very real possibility since there is an interested owner who has the financial wherewithal to make it work in the PNW. If not, Quebec is even easier. HedleyLamarr
Just so the realigned divisions will stay the same, I expect the Coyotes to move to Seattle instead of Quebec City.If the Coyotes do go to Quebec City, will the NHL scrap the proposed realignment, or will they ask Detroit and/or Columbus to stay in the West? The_Admiral
The NHLiest thing they could do is flip the Coyotes (New Nordiques!) with the Avalanche (Old Nordiques!), so the New Nords will only be mildly inconvenienced, and the precious Red Wings can retain their birthright: being in a division with Ottawa and Fort Lauderdale. Ergo, we will be more or less right back where we started from (Slap Shot!), with a Western Conference team playing in Eastern Time, which is apparently only unconscionable when it's the Red Wings. Morgan33
Where would you rank it, as far as national mass-market fast food goes? I mean, Burger King is just the worst, McDonald's is pretty decent, Wendy's is fairly good, and White Castle is kind of a special case unto itself.Side note: I got Subway for lunch today, because my mom gave us a couple of $5 gift cards as stocking stuffers. I had a bite of roast beef that tasted vaguely of fish, which differed from all the others that just tasted of unspecified animal protein. God, that place is a sandwich atrocity. With the exception of my time at IU, I've never lived in a town with a White Castle (and then it was on the other side of town from me), so I've never really had it and can't weigh in.For the others that might class as major, my personal hierarchy of taste/value would line up as...Wendy'sArby'sHardee'sMcDonaldsLong John Silver'sKFCSubway*gap*Super Bong Burger Taco BellBurger KingThey're all garbage, google GMO... Brian in Boston
The Kings situation should be resolved a week before the NHL playoffs even start.Maybe. Maybe not. Ben Bolch of the the Los Angeles Times is reporting that..."Commissioner David Stern indicated this week that the decision of whether the Kings can be sold to Seattle investors could extend beyond the NBA Board of Governors meeting April 18-19 in New York."It had been widely expected that the board's vote on the proposed sale and relocation of the team would be the final say on the matter, but Stern told reporters there were 'complex' issues that needed to be resolved before a final decision could be reached."Stern did not say when the Kings' fate would ultimately be decided other than in time to prepare for next season."Meanwhile, the Sacramento Bee reported last Thursday that Alameda Superior Court Judge Frank Roesch has announced that he plans to strike down a provision of AB 900, the two-year-old California law designed to fast-track major construction projects that face legal challenges on environmental grounds. The portion of the law that Roesch would strike down requires opponents of big construction projects to file their lawsuits in state appellate court, which would have just 175 days to rule. Roesch, ruling in a case brought by the Planing and Conservation League, said that opponents of projects should have the right to begin the legal process in lower courts. Beginning the process in lower courts could then take longer than 175 days. So, the "lead" that members of a proposed Sacramento ownership group felt they'd gained in the race to complete construction of an arena when Chris Hansen conceded that it might take longer than originally stated to build in Seattle may well have evaporated. In other words, the situations surrounding where the NBA's Kings will be playing long-term - and how that impacts where the NHL's Coyotes will be moving - continue to be in a state of flux. Gothamite
Well, since this has now officially become one with the Sacramento thread, I'll repeat what I posted there:"Commissioner David Stern indicated this week that the decision of whether the Kings can be sold to Seattle investors could extend beyond the NBA Board of Governors meeting April 18-19 in New York."It had been widely expected that the board's vote on the proposed sale and relocation of the team would be the final say on the matter, but Stern told reporters there were 'complex' issues that needed to be resolved before a final decision could be reached.Translation: the NBA doesn't think that either plan represents its group's best offer, and it's waiting for the groups to sweeten their offers. And why not? The NBA can only win by dragging out negotiations between two interested ownership groups. Unlike other prolonged relocations, the Sacramento fans won't abandon their club, needing to show support. So the Kimgs can stay put while the NBA squeezes every last cent. I don't know if the NHL can afford to wait until the dust settles there. Quote The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog. FiddySicks
So I'm pretty sure I just met Jerry Colangelo at the Diamondbacks game tonight. I REALLY wanted to get his take on the whole Coyotes situation, but considering he was kicking me out of his front row seats while I was holding a 300 level ticket, I doubt he was in the talking mood.He was pretty nice about it though. IE, he didn't have me escorted out of the stadium, so that was cool. Quote On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) HedleyLamarr
There's nothing more bothersome about attending games than idiot fans sitting in seats that don't belong to them. Not only do you tick off the people that have those ticketed seats, you also piss off those sitting a few rows behind you, as you obstruct their view of the game while you get up and move.Sit in your damn ticketed seat. Otherwise, the ushers can get bent. I'm not hurting anybody. My whole season is obstructed. Quote On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) My whole season is obstructed.I'm going to preface this by saying that I've been an employee for professional sports teams for a decade. There is absolutely no argument that you can make that makes your stance acceptable. This is simply a debate you're going to lose. You are, indeed, hurting somebody by not sitting in your ticketed seats. More like, you're enhancing the possibility of someone getting hurt by sitting in someone else's seat. Ushers not just direct people to their seats, they're also constantly scanning their sections for disruptive behavior. These ushers are the unbiased pairs of eyes that are making sure that everyone in their designated sections is getting to enjoy the game. When those not sitting in their ticketed seats cause a problem because of seat location, getting the usher involved to settle an argument that's needless takes away from the safety of everyone in that usher's viewing area. You're creating a needless hassle by both the usher and those that have the ticketed seats you're sitting in.You are also causing a disturbance. It doesn't matter how long you're being a disturbance. You're causing people to miss 20 seconds of a game that they paid good money for. A lot can happen in 20 seconds, whether it's baseball or hockey, etc. You're creating a possibility of someone missing "the moment" of the game, all because you didn't sit in your ticketed seat. You're also causing yourself to miss some of the game because you're moving around from seat to seat.I feel no sympathy for your seat location. Whether it's a partial or full season ticket holder, you should have gotten the opportunity to pick your own seats. That's on you.

sportstar1212
What I typically do is I sit in my ticketed seat for the first bit of the game, and then I look around for better seats and if I don't see anyone there for a while, I'll move down.
