TheLAKnight
With Ben Bishop being traded to Dallas, it looks like his days with the Kings are over (unless he doesn't sign with the Stars and becomes a UFA on July 1st, then signs back in LA...). After being traded to LA at the end of February, Bishop played 7 games as a King. Four of those games were against the Calgary Flames. Only one of these was in relief. Justin7218
Here are some cool or bizarre facts that I've realized or heard of over the years. My apologies if any of these have already been posted. 1. In 2004, the 49ers only won two games. Both victories were 31-28 overtime wins against the Cardinals. 2. In 2003, the Chiefs were led by former Eagles coach, Dick Vermeil. They started the season 9-0, and eventually, they'd go on to lose in the playoffs to the Colts. Ten years later, in 2013, they were led by another former Eagles coach, Andy Reid. They once again started out 9-0, and once again lost to the Colts in the playoffs. 3. The Giants started a very interesting streak in 2007. Every four seasons, they would lose 38-35 to an undefeated team whose name begins with the letter P. Take a look: 2007: Giants face undefeated Patriots, lose 38-35 2011: Giants face undefeated Packers, lose 38-35 2015: Giants face undefeated Panthers, lose 38-35 4. The 49ers won Super Bowl XXIX in their 49th season, scoring 49 points in the victory. 5. From Super Bowl XXI to Super Bowl XXVIII, the losing team's name began with the letter B. XXI: Broncos XXII: Broncos XXIII: Bengals XXIV: Broncos XXV: Bills XXVI: Bills XXVII: Bills XXVIII: Bills 6. After hiring back to back coaches named Mike, (Mike Nolan and Mike Singletary) the 49ers hired back to back coaches named Jim (Jim Harbaugh and Jim Tomsula). 7. The NFC Central/North had an interesting streak start in 1985. Every 13 years, the division winner went 15-1. 1985: Bears, 15-1 1998: Vikings, 15-1 2011: Packers, 15-1 The Lions need to win the division with a 15-1 record in 2024 to keep the streak alive.

Yeah, but they totally got hosed by the ump on that play at the plate in St. Louis on August 17, 1934. They should be over .500. 13 1 Quote Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse." mcj882000
In 1999 the Jacksonville Jaguars went 14-2. Their two losses came against the Tennessee Titans, the only team they didn't beat all season; conversely, they were undefeated against everyone else they faced. In the playoffs they faced Miami in the second round and won 62-7 - the second-largest margin of victory in NFL playoff history - advancing them to the AFC Championship to face, guess who? The Tennessee Titans! And once again the Titans beat them, 33-14, to advance to Super Bowl XXXIV. That year they went 15-0 against teams not named the Tennessee Titans, and 0-3 against the Titans themselves. Oh, and to top it all off, in a classic moment of "premature jocularity" the team released "Uh-Oh: the Jacksonville Jaguars Championship Song", their own "Super Bowl Shuffle", at the start of the playoffs, before they made it to the Super Bowl. Whoops.
B-Rich
Just did the math after thinking about it, and noticed this: - The NBA Hornets/Pelicans franchise has been in New Orleans (2002-2017; 15 seasons) longer than they were originally in Charlotte (1988-2002; 14 seasons). - The NFL Colts have been in Indianapolis (1984-2016, 33 seasons) longer than they were originally in Baltimore (1953-1983, 31 seasons). - The NFL Cardinals have been in Arizona (1988-2016; 29 seasons) longer than they were in St. Louis (1960-1987; 28 seasons) 3 Quote It is what it is. Slightly off, fixed it for you. Rams, sheep, goats are not bovine; they are, however bovids (bovidae family); more specifically caprines (caprinae subfamily). Bovines (bovinae) are a separate subfamily of the Bovidae family. Bovines include cattle, bison, water buffalo, yaks and certain antelopes. 4 Quote It is what it is. Of course, the home team does have a slightly better chance to win, in general (not always, though. For example the Twins, definitely the worst team in MLB right now, were at home and have less than a 50% chance to win any game they play). I am sure some SABRmetrician can probably figure out what the chance was that those 15 games would all be won by the home team. I would say that if MLB stays with this number of teams and this basic schedule forever, this is probably less than a once per decade occurrence. The question is, will we ever get all road teams to win? The article points out that road teams went undefeated at 7-0 a couple of years ago. Tacking 8 more games on that would certainly have ended the dream... HOLD ON A MINUTE THE TWINS WERE IN THE WILD CARD RACE THAT YEAR!
