HedleyLamarr Posted March 20, 2016 Share Posted March 20, 2016 When Gonzaga is a high seed, it seems like they can't get to the Sweet 16 (the only time I remember them getting that far as a top-4 seed was the year Morrison cried in their loss to #2 UCLA). But when they're a low seed or a double-digit seed and the expectations are low....they go far. Currently up 30 on Utah, and they'll face the winner of Syracuse and Middle Tennessee in the Sweet 16. And they could face two other choking dogs in the Elite 8 to get to the Final Four. Gonzaga could be here for a while. Very easily can see them in Houston. I'm by no means a Gonzaga fan (see: 2005 vs. Winthrop; Adam Morrison), but apart from 2013 (losing to #9 Wichita State as a #1), I don't see how you can label them choke artists. Seems like a weird contingency a high seed would have to plan for, but looks like Syracuse did. Or they had their home uniforms shipped. EDIT: And Gonzaga's the 11, right? Barring disaster, 10-seed Syracuse will play two games as the favorite.
