I thought UA was coming to the MLB in 2020?

Maybe since they absorbed majestic (I think) the timeline no longer matters.

They’ll probably be majestic jerseys simply rebadged. They’re not going to change cut / materials on players during the most important time of the year. They’ll just put the UA on the chest and remove the Majestic logo from the sleeve. That’s my guess. That’s also why these will be clllectors items.

This is one of those uniforms that are so ugly that I actually kind of like it. It’s the Kramer Portrait of baseball uniforms.

Cruddy and unattractive, yet I detect a novelty in color scheme and wordmark solidity much like the maroon Phillies.

But the collar.  It's a pullover barely hanging onto relevance.  Like the ketchup red Indians alternates.

I can't speak for Fredbird, but the Oriole Bird uses the flexibility of his beak as part of his schtick (ex., pretending to eat opposing team hats, giving full face/head kisses).

I understand the flexible movability, but the structure doesn't seem to keep even and straight.  It just kinda looks weird when pics are snapped.

I don't think Fredbird has the same issue.  I just think it's a matter of construction.

But I think we can all agree Pirate Parrot is much worse off than either.

Rockies/Coors Field getting a new scoreboard this season.

Here’s a FIRST LOOK at the new scoreboard!

8,369 sq ft | 258% larger than the old Coors Field board | 784 60-inch televisions | 6.8 million LEDs | HD1080P | Uniquely Colorado Rockies shape | Speaker enhancements on the lower bowl

I want to see an avalanche animation for home runs.  That's gotta look amazing.

My only issue is the shape of the boxes for team states doesn't seem to be built for the scoreboard shape.  Feels like a lack of polish.

Because UA can’t make uniforms of their own? I don’t believe they would put their logo on someone else’s product.

That's not actually surprising, baseball has been rolling out next year's stuff in the playoffs for decades. Almost as long as authentic merchandise has been a thing.

Have any examples outside the 2016 World Series you can share? The 2006 season was the last with wool caps, and the World Series caps sold to the public were wool. 2007 New Era went synthetic.

Actually, the 2006 World Series caps were poly. Retail got a mix of the old and the new. I have a Cardinals hat from that series that's wool, and a Tigers hat from that series that's the new poly. This was done mainly to push the old stock for full price before anyone realized it. The new on field caps offered to the players were made of the brand new poly material.

Really? Very interesting. My Cards hat from that series is wool too, so I assumed the switch hadn’t been made yet.

Look at the NBA with all the new Nike jerseys tearing, or the NHL where all the players complained about the material of the Edge 1.0 jerseys.

1. They're not going to debut brand new materials, cuts, whatever else, and use the freaking playoffs as the proving ground.

2.  They're not going to debut new styles.

3.  Majestic (under the Fanatics name) will be manufacturing UA-branded retail jerseys, including "authentics", so the same jerseys that the players are wearing will have the UA badge anyway and be made by the same people, so it's really no different.  It's really not exactly "someone else's product".

Marlins will be unveiling a 25th anniversary logo on Tuesday, as well as details about what they'll do throughout the season to honor the anniversary.

Great opportunity for Jeter to try some easy fan service. Despite what's gone on so far this offseason, long time fans would enjoy some throwbacks this season.

Wait, when did the news about majestic/fanatics making the retail authentics come out?

I know that the fanatics retail replicas are a done deal, just didn't think majestic/fanatics would do the authentics.

I remember getting the Tigers cap and being pretty unhappy because the black sweatband and tags looked cheap and the material felt weird. I've pulled a total 180 since and LOVE the US made poly caps now because it's far superior to the old wool caps. That Cardinals cap shrunk and hasn't fit me in years, while I still wear the Tigers cap every now and then.

Fanatics (former majestic plant) will make all retail jerseys, including those with the UA mark.

UA is only actually making the on field stuff.

Further evidence that these deals are no different than buying ad space on a jersey.

Long time fans are long gone.

Only a fool would purchase items to support Jeter and his "team"

Dugout jackets come to mind - in the 1990s teams started introducing the next season’s jackets in the playoffs.
