Thye should have freshened up the look a little in my opinion. The name change was the least of the "logo" concern.

Honestly, I see no reason to change if they don't have to. The CAA logo is a perfectly fine conference logo. It's easily legible, yet the tight kerning makes it unique enough. Plus, they've had some version of it, according to the mothership, for 20 years.

This. The CAA doesn't have the best conference logo, but they don't have the worst conference logo, either.

Olivet College of Michigan and NCAA DIII recently changed their name to The University of Olivet prompting logo changes. OC is now UO. The dual letters continue to overlap but with new serifs and strokes. Red is noticeably different. spacer.png

The University of Dallas Crusaders of NCAA DIII recently unveiled a new UD monogram. The new mark was designed with the university’s love of tradition in mind, though it is a stark departure from the previous long-standing emblem.spacer.png

Man is that terrible, honestly looks like the work of a 10 year old on MS Paint circa Windows95.

Canisius College is now University starting today. The new academic mark was unveiled in early June and features the legendary Griffin, the mythological king of birds and beasts and the official mascot since 1933, at the top of the shield.

Neither Griffin logos are great, but why on earth did they decide to thin out all the shading and strokes on the new one? Looks like a crappy high school team logo from the late 80s.

A decade after St. Peter's in Jersey City (another Jesuit college in the MAAC) became university status. Canisius Elite Eight run in 2032? 😏
