While not good, that team obviously has sentimental value to some. I'm sure there are people from British Columbia that loved the Vancouver Grizzlies despite their lack of success from 1995-2001. Weirdly, I had a fascination with the early/mid 90s Washington Bullets. I guess it's because I could catch most of their games on HTS whenever TNT or TBS had off nights, so I started to get familiar with them. Those early Kings teams played in an actual converted office building that held just a tick above 10,000 people. There's more whimsical charm there than you would expect. It was built as a temporary home for the Kings. "I always wanted to be somebody, but now I realize I should have been more specific." I think the building broke ground before the Kings got involved though, and it was originally planned as a large warehouse of some sorts. Either way, people like wonky charm, is my ultimate point. NunsDupreAllDay
Sorry if this has already been mentioned, but based on those court leaks from last Friday, are the Jazz returning their City Uniform for a 3rd straight year?! @Conrad.blink twice if true lol. FiddySicks
Yeah, it is. Crazy to think nowadays. IceCap
That's both absurd and amazing. I love the Kings now. FiddySicks
The interior had an equally strange layout. I can’t imagine those upper level corner seats were very good. You guys answered a question for me on BASS a few weeks ago about old arenas you wish you could’ve caught a game at. This is very high on that list for me. Old School Fool
Here are some really detailed pictures of the original Arco Arena. Bob Busser's site has a ton of other great arena and stadium pictures too, it's the closest thing to actually visiting some of these old places. https://ballparks.smugmug.com/Arco-Arena-l-Sacramento-California/ For a long time there were no detailed pictures of it and it was just up to rare archive footage and people's memories but now you can get a good look. I've driven by this place several times and I still can't believe it housed NBA basketball at any point. The building is now the California Department of Consumer Affairs after being a Sprint building for awhile.
ScubaSteve
An NBA team playing in what looks like a college fieldhouse surrounded by an unassuming 80s looking office building. This is amazing
