No. But so many penalties, virtually no interest showing from players or coaches. In some ways it feels like a quick hook (coming off of an OK season last year). On the other hand, the program's been waning since about halftime of the 2019 Big Ten Championship Game...and the Illinois loss was just embarrassing. I'm not sure whether it was a bold move or Wisconsin's Bo Pelini moment. Discrim Posted October 8, 2022 Share Posted October 8, 2022 I'm a bit conflicted about how I feel at the half. UW has thrown 4 touchdowns in a half. Can't remember the last time that happened. Almost can't believe that Graham Mertz has thrown three of them. Dude is one of the most frustrating QBs I've ever seen. Against bad teams, he feasts; against even average defenses though, boneheaded throws and holding the ball too long are the norm. It's depressingly common for me to think the other team's third string QB would be better than him. Hell, Braelon Allen might be a better QB at this rate. Kansas/TCU was a treat, Purdue/Maryland was chaos, Okie State/Texas Tech was fun, and ILL/IOWA + FSU/NC ST were sicko’s delights.
