The Seahawks and Buccaneers (and Eagles, Bills, and Broncos) throwbacks weren't in the style guide for years (whereas the Falcons, Patriots and Cowboys were), and they couldn't pair the throwback jerseys with a Color Rush helmet, like the Giants apparently were trying to do. I'd put more blame on a team like the Saints who completely f'ed up a good looking throwback look by adding a helmet that has nothing to do with the throwback jersey. 8 Smart is believing half of what you hear. Define “in a fun way” because a helmet that is completely devoid of an essential color to the team isn’t exactly “fun” and no, it doesn’t keep the iconic stripes intact. It makes the team look cheap. By the way, if anyone is counting the Giants will wear 4 different sets of white pants this year - “home” - white with blue-gray-red-gray-blue stripe ”road” - white with red-white-red-white-red northwestern stripe ”color rush” - white with blue-red-blue stripe ”classic - white with blue-red-blue stripe the color rush and classic are very similar but have different colors. Eagles announced a black helmet for 2022 a while ago but haven’t unveiled it. They chose a black helmet this year because they have a jersey they can immediately pair it with.
