I think we’re finally done (thank goodness). Also this says the Cowboys will be wearing their white helmet with a white facemask and current primary logo, which I didn’t know before.

I don't think we are done...we still haven't seen the Bills red helmet

and the Broncos throwback helmet.

Good Morning Football on NFL Network this morning reported it will be 13 teams this season with Alt helmet shells so it appears we may be done or they are not allowed to spoil the 14th and are only discussing the 13 that are announced.

Unless they got their jerseys in by the 2022 deadline, you won't see those this year.

Someone brought up a really scary thought - what if teams not only started mixing and matching helmets with uniforms, but also started mixing and matching decals?  Like if the Falcons did put their current decal on the red helmet just for "fun", or the Patriots come out with Elvis on a white helmet for some reason?

That's pretty much the only thing that can make it worse.

The Bears orange helmet is the exact reason why I was never in favor of alternate helmets. Teams cannot help themselves.

I'm surprised the Seahawks haven't announced a bright green helmet, which would upset every Seahawks fan I know because they've all wanted silver throwbacks for two decades now.

I left the boards for 3 days...3 days...and the NFL world completely collapsed. Kids, if you didn't know before, now you know: sports' #1 priority is money. Everyone involved, from the players, coaches, staff, owners, broadcasters, ect., has some sort of financial motive. A byproduct of the league loving money is that they will do whatever it takes to promote their product, which includes actual football. But over the last 72 hours the NFL has shown me that teams don't care about anything else. They don't care about traditon. (CHI, ARI). They don't care about asthetics (CAR, NYJ, NO, PHI, WAS). They care about demographics, money, and how to get people talking and buying. If that happens to be in the uni-lover's best interest, say, a beloved throwback uniform (DAL, NYG, NE, ATL), then so be it. But if a color swap is what is going to make people talk about them more, tune in to their games, and buy said product, then that's what they'll do.

This is the end of uniform uniformity. The cash grab has never been more apparent.

If the Seahawks don't roll out a silver helmet, and do this instead Lumen Field may get burned to the ground.

I'm not going to rank the new helmets, just going to separate them into two groups - they're either ASS or they're CLASS

ASS

Bears, Cardinals, Cowboys unnecessary white helmets, Commanders, Eagles, Jets, Saints

CLASS

Bengals, Cowboys throwbacks, Panthers, Texans, Falcons, Giants, Patriots

Money is the top factor you are absolutely right. If they can pair the money grab with throwbacks they will. If not they will figure something out.

As far as teams that did not go the throwback route here is some info to consider.

There is some history for the Bears with orange helmets. They wore orange helmets in 1933 and 1934. They also wore White helmets in 1934. This pre-dated the wishbone C but they haven't always only worn navy. The majority of their existence outside of early plain brown leather they have been a navy helmet team but there is some history with orange and white helmets.

The Cardinals never have worn black helmets. This is a first for this team. They have some instance of red helmets in their past as well as plain brown leather in the very early years but never black.

The Panthers, Jets, Eagles and Commanders have no history of Black helmets, but the Commanders don't have the option of history anymore. White would have made for some historic relevance for the Jets or Eagles, and the Panthers have only ever worn Silver until now. The Saints had the 1 pre-sesaon with black lids so there is some lose history, but that helmet stripe is just bad.

What i dislike about the black for the Cards, is the logo doesn't have strong contrast on the black background.  the logo is clearly visible on white.  maybe a white outline on the logo for black helmet would help make logo stand out better.  i think from a stadium viewing distance, the red on black disappears and all you'll see is the yellow beak and white eye.

This is a good point. Even more, I wonder whether the red-flake effect of the helmet will make the Cardinals logo -- which just appears to be a regular  glossy sticker -- stick out awkwardly. It could look like a mismatch of textures -- like slapping a sticker onto a marbled bowling ball, which this essentially is doing.

I get the jonesing for change with the Cardinals, but I'd want a lot more than just swapping white and gray for black. The red flakes are a barely noticeable novelty, just like they were with the Jaguars before.

Put another way, I don't necessarily hate these just to hate them. Like all of the other recently released alts, they're unimaginative. These teams made the easiest (or laziest) choices possible just to not be left out of this alternate helmet trend.

I'll applaud the teams that end up showing restraint.

Gold Yellow Canary helmets would’ve been a better option for Washington.

Speaking of the Mandies, they only have one game scheduled for their all black uniforms. Seems like they’ll wear them with their white uniforms/jerseys for the other two eligible games. That being said, the black helmet decals do not fit in at all with the white uniforms. Chances are they’ll likely swap decals and go with the gold “W” outlined in burgundy for those games.

The easiest thing Washington could've done -- but nope!

Not saying this won't happen but I would take a tweet for a source outside of the the Cowboys themselves or the NFL with a grain of salt. Why wouldn't the Cowboys have announced this when the announced the Thanksgiving Day throwbacks?

I was  wondering if teams would take advantage of the extra shell and swap decals on them as well. The Falcons came to mind as completing the gradient look by replacing the throwback decals with the modern ones.
