2022 NFL Season week by week uniform match-up combos: From HOF Game to Super Bowl LVII

It only just occurred to me watching this game that New England is wearing gray pants. I guess when you're used to seeing them wear this half the time for 20 years it doesn't look all that unusual.

That said...these dumb mother****ers.. How long have they had gray pants as an option? Wear these for every home game and ditch the mono-blue. This has to be the first Patriots home game since Brady's last game that the Patriots actually look like the Patriots.

The more I see these pants, the more I need Nike to magically discover the incredible intricacies of manufacturing dazzle fabric. Flat gray and gold pants look so bad compared to the shiny fabric of old.

Just came to rejoice with everyone about the Patriots, wisely, wearing grey pants at home.

As much as this is an upgrade for NE, the silver-but-really-grey pants are too dull compared to the helmet.

Still, Top 10-15 as of this moment.

Silver pants help that look immensely, but there are still a million things wrong with the Patriots overall look. This is probably “cleaner” than the previous set, but it’s still just using the same stripes as the Colts/Jets used to and I just wish we could get something a little more from them. I would almost like to see the oversized Pat head logos return to the shoulders. Might look not half bad on navy.

Oh heckz yeah!

My dawg, you just gave me a reason to post THESE (and let it be known that this is my second-favorite sports uniform set ever, right behind the blue-and-bronze Screagles):

If NE were to "mixtape" these with the Brady Block numbers/NOB, that'd be a straight winner for me! (I want those sublimated flag stripes in the jersey bodies to come back, too!)

Side note: do y'all see how big Scott Zolak's head is?? Dude was bordering on Larry Allen territory squeezing that melon up in that helmet. (I wonder if the Patriots Pro Shop is still selling his jersey...I came thisclose to getting his instead of Drew Bledsoe's last time I was up there.)

One of my favorite looks.

Also, I found this picture of Devin Hester wearing DOUBLE striped socks.

Although that look would be a lot better if the pants stripes pattern matched both the shoulders & socks (adding white spaces in between the navy blue & orange).

The same thing goes for the Bears' navy pants as well, as they could use a swap of the striping color scheme from orange/white/orange to white/orange/white, which besides the color coordination of stripe designs would also even mesh well with the helmet's 'C' logo being orange outlined in white.

Perhaps double outline the primary white road jersey digits with white in between as well, to take it that extra step further and fully solidify the matching facets.

Additionally, in a few years from now, I hope the Bears seriously consider going back to the former (recent) throwback navy jersey with orange numbers as a replacement for the current alternate white throwback jersey that is worn solely for home games anyway.

Furthermore, I wouldn't mind seeing navy numerals placed on their orange alternate jersey, just as they had before once upon a time, as a minor tweak.

I've also always wondered if a consistent red-white-red stripe might be better for all involved, as well as getting rid of the number outlines that don't fit this set anymore. Apologies to gridiron-uniforms but gave it a quick try. I think the numbers work pretty well on the away to bring navy into the jersey, if it won't be in the stripe anymore. Not sure it works on the home.
