MellowTheMyth
If anyone has seen them before, check out Dr. Brian Sutterer MD and Dr. Chris Raynor MD on YouTube. They both have covered sports injuries and detail a lot of what happens, the recovery, the responsibility of medical staff, etc. Sutterer recently posted about Hamlin, stating that he potentially suffered “Commotio Cordis.” His video response

That's what my GF said might have caused it. According to her, it's a million to one shot, but it can happen. This is exactly what my GF was trying to explain to me. All I got was "it takes perfect timing and it's rare." The rest was a lot of me trying to look like I understood. Not saying this is what happened, just pointing out that she said it was a possibility. 2 Quote All roads lead to Dollar General.

Guest
In my opinion, this is why Andrew Luck's retirement announcement is the best decision for him seeing how many injuries he's already gone through as well as freak or unexpected accidents like this one today. Hope he recovers.

For example,Jeremy Renner is in the hospital in Nevada and he's in critical but stable condition. We'd all do well to stop speculating. Far as I know, none of us are medical professionals. We should wait for reliable information to come out. Yeah… About that. Very weird that you bring that up. That happened just down the road from me, and his situation looked pretty dire, as he nearly lost his leg under a snowcat and lost a TON of blood. I know this because he was in the same ICU ward at the same time as my mom (I had a VERY bad holiday, but that’s a story for another time). 1 Quote On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) Rockstar Matt
Bills just announced that Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest, had his heartbeat restored on the field and now he’s currently sedated but in critical condition. 1 Quote Cowboys - Lakers - LAFC - USMNT - LA Rams - LA Kings - NUFC

Wow, that's insane. I figured it had to be something serious with the way he just dropped, but still. Glad he was surrounded by medical staff, given CPR and taken to a hospital as soon as possible. Hopefully he'll pull through.

We should take a minute to appreciate the stellar work the EMTs did tonight. They saved his life. Believe it or not, here in Ohio they don't get paid all that much to do the job they do. When I say not that much, I mean you could probably make more money working at Walmart. When my GF was an EMT back in the early 2000's, she was making about 7 bucks an hour. The money is why she left being an EMT to get her RN degree. It's absurd that these folks make as little money as they do. 20 Quote All roads lead to Dollar General. who do you think
6 hours ago, BBTV said: I've read a lot of the backlash to this tweet. While it's poorly worded, he even says that the outcome of the game and regular season are irrelevant. He's simply questioning the logistics of how it would be moved - which is something everyone has. EDIT: I think it's being interpreted as if he's saying that "the regular season outcome seems irrelevant" as a complaint - when I believe that he's saying what we're all saying. Just my two cents, giving the guy the benefit of the doubt. I'd believe this for just about anyone other than Skip Bayless. He technically says the right thing, but only once you scrape the thick layer of outrage bait (this is such an important game!) off the top. He gets the attention and the strange wording gives him plausible deniability. I bet this tweet was very deliberately worded to be this way.
DCarp1231
Certainly the NFL wouldn’t (and shouldn’t) make any decisions about resuming the game until there’s closure to this accident, right? I’m not saying go this extreme, but halt all league wide activities, practices, etc.
