2022 NFL regular season through Super Bowl LVII

Recommended Posts

You know what else was great about last night? I can't remember a single referee call.

That tends to happen in a blowout, but still. Refreshing that the refs were never part of the game.

Also, I learned today the Bills haven't punted in 4 of their last 6 games.

Thoughts:

- Rams sold their souls for that super bowl and if they miss the playoffs I won't be surprised.

- Bills are really really good and I maintain that if they hadn't given up that touchdown in the last 13 seconds to KC they win last year's Super Bowl. The Bengals were not going to go into Buffalo and win the AFC Championship game and don't let any dumb Bengals fans tell you otherwise - the Bengals got a favorable matchup playing KC, a team they were familiar with due to the week 17 matchup, and who they matched up better with than Buffalo.

But at the same time let's all pump the brakes and remember that the first month is essentially the preseason now since nobody plays their starters in the actual preseason anymore. Don't overreact just yet. Long way to go.

Overreaction Time!

  • LA doesn't (and never really did) have much depth. Last year they filled their roster with stars like Von Miller & OBJ so that their counterparts (Kupp & Donald, respectively) would be free to wreak havok. With both of them now gone, the defense can focus on Kupp and Donald, and their impact is not erased, but limited.
  • Jalen Ramsey is overrated. I literally watched him get completely burnt on the last TD to Stefon Diggs. His name was not mentioned other than thta one deflection to prevent another Bills TD.
  • Buffalo win win the Super Bowl. I'm convinced. I wasn't worried about the offense, because I trust Allen, Diggs, and Isaiah McKenzie to figure it out. The defense (even though they were No. 1 DVOA) was worrisome in that KC game, but the shut down LA last night, forcing enough turnovers to offset their own.

Game of the Week, though, is definitely going to be the Sunday Night matchup with the Bucs and apparently immortal Tom Brady going down to Dallas to face off against Dak Prescott's Cowboys. It's not a playoff game so I don't think Dallas folds by the third quarter.

Man, there really isn’t a more loser ass organization in pro sports than the Browns. And I say that as someone who was subjected to watching Sacramento Kings games for years.

What does this have to do with the Browns organization or anything at all?  A dude didn't reply to a text.  I've not replied to personal texts from work colleagues.  Just because they worked together doesn't mean they're BFF.

It’s just the overall lack of professionalism that’s completely unsurprising coming from Myles Garrett. I’ve had jobs where when I left I’ve gotten texts from co workers I’ve absolutely HATED, yet have been mature enough to respond with some grace.

I think what it says more than anything is that the Browns employ a lot of worthless douchebags who are publicly really open about how big of douchebags they are. This isn’t the first incident from him, either, and it’s not surprising that the leaders on both sides of the ball are trash. Very fitting for such a trash organization.

Whatever job you had, you weren't being paid to be a monster that destroys people.  I'm not sure that "are you professional enough to reply to text messages from people you dislike" is part of the qualification to be a defensive lineman.

Regardless, getting worked up over the fact that a guy you don't know didn't reply to a text from another guy you don't know, when nobody knows anything about their relationship, and then generalizing it as a systemic issue in the Browns organization seems a little overboard.

Myles Garrett took the time a few years back to visit my friends terminally ill son in the hospital. What a "worthless douchebag" move that was.

So apparently you can no longer watch your local NFL games on the NFL app unless you have NFL+.

I don't understand NFL+ and I worry what it means for streaming on apps like Hulu and YouTube TV.

Just out of curiosity, have you been living under a giant boulder for the past six months?

Back in the first half, the Bears knocked themselves out of FG range in the weirdest way ever: the holder was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct for patting down the spot of the would-be kick with a towel, which I assume has some relation to whatever rules are meant to prevent a repeat of the Snowplow Game.

That felt like one of those things that should've happened to either the Lions or Jets at some point in time because why not, what's one more weird thing to happen to the NFL's chew toys?

Naturally, as I post, the Bears are now ahead despite having been outplayed most of the afternoon.

Yuck, what a mess. Reminds me of that Chiefs/Seahawks game from some time ago (that probably should have been canceled).

Crazy finish going on in Cincinnati.

FOX had to have fake yard line graphics because the field is a mess.
