This is my take, too. It's as if they designed the number font before they knew they were changing the logo.

This is spot on.  Compare the shapes of the numbers to the now retired Twins script. I think it’s fine and the design is still great, but odd none the less.

This was talked about shortly after the release. Oddly, for me its the other way around: I like that Wolff styled the numbers to match the Twins logotype (the bottom picture)...but it's the new Twins script that's throwing the whole thing off for me. From a color perspective, the new home whites look great—separating the red from the blue really did wonders for theTwins—but that script...it just looks like it's trying to do three things at once and not really working at any of them other than being single-layer red. This is one of those times where I think holding on to the former Twins logotype but rendering it single-layer would have solidified this whole thing.

Not sure if this means anything or not, but the colorful shirts that have popped up in here for the Orioles are currently available for purchase in their team store. It didn't look like it was Nike.

I think it was determined that those are not related to their City Connect design. Someone a few pages back posted a photo of a Mariners cap in that same style.

Ah, must've missed the Mariners ones, but that's what I was assuming if they were just kind of a random item in the O's store.

Last thing MLB needed was another navy, red, white team.

That old jersey was much better, and with a 3 color script.

the speciel shade of gold was also something nobody else had.

sleeve patch also 100 times better on the old jersey.

New twins unis: 😴

Totally disagree.

The more and more I see of the new Twins set, the more I think they absolutely knocked it out of the park. Simplifying everything into one separate color has done wonders for this set, and really helps to make the Twins stand out from the other navy and red teams. I get wanting to keep the Minnie and Paul sleeve patch, but it would look kind of out of place with this set. I think the simplified sleeve patches help to tie in better with the overall theme of the set and work very well. The only thing I don’t really like about the look is the new road cap M. I still think they should’ve either used a simplified Metrodome script M (white M over red swoosh), or just stuck with the TC logo like in the home set.

This whole set feels like a mashup of basically all of the older twins sets, but instead of feeling forced it actually flows together pretty nicely.  As of now it’s one of my favorite rebrands from a team in quite some time.

1. They've been a navy, red and white team for like 100 years.

2. There was a reason nobody else had it. (even though pms 465 is a very common color in sports, it didn't translate as well here)

Not to mention pretty much the ENTIRE fan base hated the Kasota gold...it was a no-brainer to dump it.

And to circle back to the now-current sets...I agree with @FiddySicks in that this rebrand turned out great. It's about one or two notches shy of Padres/Blue Jays-level great. (It's the "Twins" script and M-star cap that keep it from leveling up with those aforementioned clubs.)

Agreed. If they had to use gold, it should’ve been a shade closer to that patch logo:

The patch gold is lighter, helping with the “muddiness,” it resembles the cream of their throwbacks, and, in my opinion, looks closer to the color of the limestone the gold was inspired by in the first place. The shade they went with was way too mustard-y, to where it almost looks like it could be athletic gold or even orange.

I felt the same way, but surprisingly the new M hat is growing on me. It must also be a hit with fans because the authentic New Era 5950 caps appear to be sold out.  I suppose that could just be the appeal of something new, but it really fits in well with the entirety of this new set.

Being from outstate, a lot of people like having M for Minnesota rather than TC for the Twin Cities. It's just a small preference thing I'm guessing

Speaking as someone who grew up 100 miles north of the Twin Cities, that's a big reason why the Metrodome-era M hat was one of my favorites.
