Washington-Vegas in 2018.

Yep. Just found it after asking. I was thinking it was Vegas. But couldn't remember who they played off the top of my head..

2018 Washington v. Vegas

2007 Anaheim v. Ottawa

1999 Dallas v. Buffalo

1996 Colorado v. Florida

1991 Pittsburgh v. Minnesota

1934 Chicago v. Detroit

Pre NHL/Post Challenge Cup Era

1916 Montreal Canadiens v. Portland Rosebuds

1915 Vancouver Millionaires v. Ottawa Senators

I think I've done a complete 360 on the Knights. they're such a meme, and Vegas is such a comically terrible city, that they've kinda wrapped around and become endearing to me again. also, the state of Nevada does not want to genocide all of my friends as far as I know. that's a plus.

Six of the last eight finalists don't have to pay state income tax in a hard-cap/guaranteed-contract league

Always argued that in a cap, there should be an adjustment made for state and federal taxes between teams. Plus you pay tax where the game is played as they're considered traveling performers. So only home games are affected but it's definitely an issue.

It's not just a cap. It's the most restrictive and least forgiving system of any of the four leagues, further compounded by the widest disparity in what we can generally call "market pressure," plus the labor base most sensitive to that pressure. This is how you play the game on easy mode.

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

Not gonna lie, the Fortress setting for the Final is beautiful.

They've had that setup for all their home playoff games, as best as I can tell. And they're good (?) about hanging the opposing team's banner up there. That's also where their percussion section and ice dancers hang out during action on the ice.

In two seasons, the SCF goalie matchups has gone from Carey Price/Andrei Vasilevskiy to.............. Aiden Hill vs Sergei Bobrovsky

what a difference 2 years makes

So it’s gone from 2 of the best goalies in the nhl, to 2 of the best goalies in the nhl

Loved that series for one reason: One team was going to win their first ever Stanley Cup but also the celebration afterwards was great from Alex Ovechkin.

4-0 Vegas midway through the 2nd.

Yeah this is getting ridiculous now. The Panthers are just undoing themselves with the aggression tactics...it's so obvious. Meanwhile Vegas done got Bobby booted off the ice after four goals and are doing their own fair share of pushing around.

EDIT: and as I type that Jack Eichel just got checked right off the ice by Matthew Tkachuk—who for the second straight game got assessed a game misconduct (along with Barbachev on Vegas' side), although it didn't look like Tkachuck was being needlessly reckless. But then, reputation precedes some people, and Tkachuk's definitely precedes him.

America’s most trash sports league is about to give America’s most trash city its first pro sports title. Fitting. What a stupid league.

Florida's seeding is starting to show. I figured at some point reality was going to sink in.

Also, the Golden Knights are scoring like 4-5 goals a game. I don't even think a hot goalie could stave off that much of an offensive barrage.

Las Vegas Locomotives in the UFL won two titles in 2009 and 2010.

Las Vegas Dustdevils won a CISL indoor soccer title in 1994.

Let the city of Las Vegas have their moment.

Vegas fans have suffered longer than most others -- I mean those fans went forever without having a single pro sports team.

More than one. Five misconducts for Florida.
