The Falcons’ 1968-70 sets with the red helmets, black numbers, and sleeve stripes are my favorite uniforms the team has ever worn. I like other sets, like their 80’s looks with red primaries, but I don’t anything since then has been all that great. I’m indifferent to all of their black jersey/black helmet looks, I strongly dislike their 00’s piping look (though it was the best piping disaster of that era by a mile) and their current uniforms are passable in the right combos but bad overall. I absolutely adore that they’ve brought back the red helmets for their throwback alternates, and would love to see red helmets incorporated into their primary uniforms, but they should definitely be leaning more toward modern elements with their uniforms than a throwback vibe. Bold colors, sharp lines, and angular numbers make perfect sense for them, and match their logo. Their current set has the general feel right in this regard, but fails on the application. Something like this would better suit that modern feel without being nearly as gimmicky.

Those aren’t half-bad.

I could rock with something like that. However, they'd need to pick a pair of pants, either white or gray "silver", but not both...and possibly add a pair of black pants to the mix.

I’m firmly in the black helmet for the Falcons camp, also not a big fan of silver/gray for them.  Gimme a red or black jersey, but I think ATL looks best in black lids.

In my opinion - black helmets, silver chrome facemasks, silver pants always…black home, white away, red alternate jersey, black or red socks, plus a throwback to the era of the first few Falcons playoff teams (1977-82).  In this case the regular uniforms would basically just be updates of the Dirty Bird (1997-2002) set.

If they were to go with something more red-heavy as a primary, then a straight Dirty Birds throwback would be great. Preferably both home and road like Miami does.

Currently the Lions and Texans are the two confirmed teams who are getting new looks this offseason. Do we know if the Broncos are for sure getting new uniforms for this year, or is that going over to next?

Watch the Texans win the super bowl and change their uniforms two months later 😆

Its essentially what the Houston Rockets did. Won the 1994-95 title in ketchup and mustard colors then had a ring ceremony wearing navy pajama pinstripes.

How many instances has that happened? A team wearing one version of a uniform, winning a title in them then moving away from it? Can't be too many.

It’s not professional sports, but FSU football won the national championship in 2013 and the school rebranded their logo and uniforms for 2014.

1999 St Louis Rams won the Super Bowl in royal blue and yellow-gold then wore navy blue and old gold for the 2000 season.

I am really concerned about what the potential new Lions' uniforms will look like considering their recent fixation with the blank pants and monochrome combos. Their current set is great and I just feel confident that any change will be for the worse.

This concept with a pair of black pants and red socks would be 🥵

Bengals have that look and it’s awesome. Mono is usually better with contrasting helmets that match the socks.

As for the Lions, they mainly need to just ditch that grey and bring back white. The grey makes the blue look dingy, while the white makes it look bright and fresh. They need to play up the sparkle in the silver,  not hide it behind grey. They’ve said more traditional (I think), so I’m hopeful it’s just a revive of an older set like we saw with Cleveland and Tampa. I think teams saw that, see how good it looks, and now realize they can actually do that, too. I’m hoping that becomes a trend.

The Pittsburgh Penguins won back to back Stanley Cups in '91 & '92, then changed their uniforms for the '93 season. They came close to completing the three-peat, finishing 1st overall in the regular season, but got upset in the playoffs. It could have been an even rarer instance of back to back championships with different logos/uniforms.

The Pens also won the Cup in 2016 wearing Vegas gold and then switched to athletic gold and won it again in 2017.

I’d imagine for a thick patch like the Cubs, it’d be uncomfortable to play with it right in the middle since it would be stiffer than the rest of the jersey. Something like the Blue Jays where the logo was more on the belly would be fine.

This is perhaps lost to history, but the Portland Trail Blazers changed to their iconic black-and-red sash uniforms after winning the NBA title in 1977.

Well, sort of. In 2016 they designated the black throwback as their home jersey, and wore it throughout the playoffs. In 2017 they introduced the white throwback to match the home look,

Oh, they absolutely won in 2016 in Vegas gold. They lifted the Cup in it.

Yep, I was gonna say, I remember pictures of them in Vegas gold from the last game of that series.

Yes, but they had already switched to athletic gold at home by that point.
