I'm usually all about color but I would like this.

You wouldn't be able to see EMU half the time if they are showing the All 22 view.  ss_20220924_121900618_2053054759.jpg

This was last year's game. At least Buffalo had black pants and helmets or they'd disappear:

I always think my TV is broken when EMU is at home

Stanford going with red helmets for the first time in school history.  Surprised they hadn't done it sooner.

There’s something about it I don’t like. Perhaps it’s the Stanford script instead of the S, but I’m not feeling these.

I've got a dribbble, check it out if you like my stuff; alternatively, if you hate my stuff, send it to your enemies to punish their insolence!

It bugs me that Indiana won't own this element; their script is something unique from the other some shade of red-and-white schools in the Big Ten, and I actually think it perfectly fills a helmet (as long as they don't throw stripes on it). Pair it with a bit of candy stripe flair (see their baseball sleeve striping below) and I think you'd have something that actually feels differentiable from Nebraska, Rutgers, Wisconsin, etc. I just don't think their current approach of "what if we added black when we're a school that otherwise doesn't use it at all" works.

I'd also love to see them pull it through on a set of basketball jerseys other than the women's pink jerseys — though I think it's a poor fit on this Adidas template — as something different in the arsenal (or a unique element to their women's team):

I sense this might not be the most popular opinion, but I really don't like the Civil War in color-vs.-color, especially not when Oregon State wears orange.

There's some contrast between the colors, but I find this pretty hard on the eyes at times:

… especially when you compare to the last time they played at Autzen and Oregon State wore a traditional road set, which I just think is a really nice and balanced matchup:

The one color-on-color combo I think works decently from a readability standpoint is Oregon State in black and Oregon in yellow, but that suffers from Oregon's yellow stuff normally being yellow and black vs. being yellow and green:

I don’t completely disagree. I like the green vs. orange, but not when it’s mono-green vs. mono-orange. I think the Ducks wearing white pants and socks will help a lot with the overall contrast this year, though I wish the Beavs were going with black pants as well.

I agree that the black vs. yellow is better from an overall contrast perspective, but I don’t think it showcases the colors as well as green vs. orange. My least favorite color on color option is orange vs. yellow, which they did in 2020. I personally like that they’ve seemingly adopted color on color as the tradition, but the 2012 and 2014 games were both pretty special as far as non color on color matchups go:

Use a modified version of this, do the script helmet and call it a day. spacer.png

Speaking of color vs color, is someone going to make The Game color v. color? If USC/UCLA, Oregon/OSU can do it, surely Michigan and OSU can so long as they stay traditional

Probably not. Ohio State wore alternates for a few years, but unless that alt is the 1968 uniform most Buckeye fans want the standard look for The Game.

Yeah, the script on the helmet just doesn't feel like Stanford. I think the same red helmet with the old block S would look pretty sharp, though. The S needs to be bigger than what they used for those throwbacks.

The baseball team uses that block S on a red hat and it looks really good.

Ole Miss looked great last night in the Egg Bowl. I’ve always loved the Rebels traditional uniform and I hate that they’ve opted for so many alternate combos throughout the season. It really dilutes their identity imo.

The navy helmets and gray pants are just classic Ole Miss and the superior look.

Ole Miss has been getting it right with the powder blue helmet, but they need to keep the jersey to their traditional red at home and the pants to always be the grey

I don’t mind the power blue helmet, but I feel like Ole Miss wears the powder blue just a bit too much. It should really be more of a once/maybe twice per season thing. I also only like it with the powder blue jerseys otherwise it’s mismatched with the navy/red.

But I agree they should keep it traditional more.

I like it but I also get an "uncanny valley" feel from seeing Stanford in a red helmet.
