All the Bruins need to do is put the new logos on the regular jerseys, gold socks with b/w/b stripe for the home, and maybe update the road to have gold yoke and keep the striping the same from the home. Basically the 70s look but with the updated template.

Any of your recent designs are miles better than what they put out

Amazing. Those colors just feel right for that team. It's been 17(!) years, enough with the black and orange. Feels like it should have been a 2-3 year failed experiment but unfortunately they won a Cup in those jerseys so that's probably why it stuck around for so long. But even then, the jerseys they've been wearing for the past several years aren't even the Cup winning ones (which were just baaaarely better, desaturated and painfully dull or ugly piping mess with garish orange panels? Pick you poison), and they've had no success with the current set. What the hell are they waiting for? Does anybody actually like the black, orange and beige? Why is it taking them so long to go back to their original set?

Spot on with this entire post. It's as if the more people clamor for the original set, the more dead set they are against bringing it back. They just keep dancing around it but wont fully commit.

Back to the mask, it's fantastic. And the pads are incredible.

Teal and eggplant screams 90s color fads to me. That scheme wouldn't work as well full-time in 2023 as it used to in 1996.

Black and orange for an Orange County team is a fine update for the Ducks brand. Black primary jerseys set them apart in a way from the Flyers who use the same colors.

The colours might have been influenced by 90's colour fads individually, but collectively there hasn't been anything like them before or since.  Other teams might have used purple and teal together but none of them could be mistaken for the Mighty Ducks.  Even the shades of purple (Eggplant) and teal (Jade) were unique as was the decision to compliment them with such a small but effective amount of yellow.  I would say their original uniforms have transcended 90's fads.

Why could it not work as well in 2023?  Nostalgia has been the main driving force in NHL uniform design, since the aftermath of the Edge debacle, and it has been recently expanded to include the 90's.  The Ducks current colours and logos look more dated with each passing season.

And it's much better to be using a unique color scheme than one as close to the Flyers.

Black primary jerseys are the least distinctive jersey color, no matter the rest of the scheme. Not sure what you're talking about.

Very excited to see the Wild wear the alternates against the Rangers, Blackhawks, Sabres, Bruins, Red Wings, and Coyotes. We are in for some good looking hockey games those nights

Those games are gonna look great! It definitely seems like the Wild planned to wear these against teams with solid, classic sets, so that the matchup will be really nice. Glad that someone is on our side (the uni-nerds)  in management there, vs just picking random games for them 😂

Wild make the North Stars look their third officially. I love the State of Hockey patch!
The captains’ patches are a nice touch too

The Captain's patch is a fun idea, but it really competes with the primary logo and largest sponsor patch in the league for your attention. That said, these colors are lightyears better than the green and red.

The Moose wore this as a throwback circa 2009, where it was kind of an unwitting prelude to the eventual Jets redesign:

They would have to come up with an excellent design for both the home and road that uses each color the right way, to make something visually appealing. To do what Vegas did with grey, gold, black, and red, but with the Mighty Ducks colors.

I think their 90s heritage jersey is magnificent as a special occasion uniform.

On the other hand, they would be replacing their championship colors that they've been using for almost as long as they wore teal/eggplant. And also, if nostalgia is a driving force, they might as well go all in and become Mighty again. Then again, maybe there's a generation gap between older fans and younger fans who grew up remembering the Ducks in black and bronze. But that's debatable.

Creating a concept in 90s colors that's better than the current jerseys can be done. But I honestly feel like it needs to be a bit more than just straight up the throwbacks. A few minor adjustments at least.

The Sabres new/old jerseys are top-tier. Something along those lines.

Anyone know if the new Winnipeg jersey is a special jersey or the official alternate? Is the current throwback alternate sticking around?

The WHA jersey is their official third jersey, fairly sure. This is just a specialty design they're wearing this season.
