Gold is a tertiary color, at best, for the Ravens. Any uniform that puts it on equal footing with purple and black will inevitably invite comparisons to the Vikings. The mustard gold that the Ravens used for their gold pants is different enough from "athletic gold" (yellow) that there shouldn't be too much confusion. I always thought of the Vikings as the "brighter" purple team and the Ravens as the "darker" purple team.

This is like saying LSU and the Washington Huskies wear the same colors. One is yellow, one is gold, and the visual difference is apparent and obvious.

You have a point, but I'd argue that the yellow on the shoulder and pants stripes for the Vikings is more noticeable than the gold in the Ravens' numbers and logos. Also, I think it's clear that these are two visually different teams.
DCarp1231
I still think it’s nuts to say the Ravens shouldn’t use their gold more prominently simply because the Vikings use yellow and to say it with your whole chest, nonetheless.
MJD7
I love purple and old gold as a color scheme, especially for Washington, but I've just never liked the Ravens having gold in their color scheme. It's not even because it would make them too close to the Vikings or anything, I've just always found it to be a bit superfluous for them. I used to think that red should take its place as the tertiary color for them, but now I think that would be just as unnecessary. Purple & black is all they really need.

I'm not saying they shouldn't use it. I'm just saying that it would draw Vikings comparisons. More to the point, I think using gold more prominently could muddle their overall look, depending upon how it is used. That is my reason for thinking the Ravens should keep the use of gold to a minimum. 2 1 Quote Most Liked Content of the Day -- February 15, 2017, August 21, 2017, August 22, 2017 ///// Proud Winner of the CCSLC Post of the Day Award -- April 8, 2008 Originator of the Upside Down Sarcasm Smilie -- November 1, 2005

Exactly, but on the other end, you can't explain that to ones who do not see the visual different and just go by words only.

You want the Lions to lose because of pants? The team is on one of the greatest runs in sports history and you want to see it come to an end because of pants?! I know what site we are on and complaints are valid but at the end of the day we're all here because we love sports. Who cares what they wear right now because this season is crazy. I want to see the Lions get to the Super Bowl and win. 7 1 1
