FiddySicks
My final thoughts: I don’t care about Pat Mahomes or the Chiefs. I’m not going to get into much of that beyond saying that people are dumb to already be labeling him the new Brady or the football Jordan or whatever. Just slow down. Niners just got out coached and out played. Chiefs have something the Niners haven’t been able to find since Steve Young. A QB worth a damn. It’s really that simple. Niners have this awesome team and these :censored:in nobodies at QB and the result is always the same. Purdy is nice, sure. But you think that dude is ever gonna be the IT guy? :censored: no. Never gonna happen. Niners are doing everything they can to win a title except for the ONE thing that actually works. Only time teams win, only time the Niners have ever won, is when they had the man at QB. Had the Niners been more proactive on Brady or Rodgers, they probably wouldn’t have this same stupid played out issue. And I know a lot of the time that’s so much easier said than done. I also know the Niners have also had some really bad luck with all of this. But they’ve also created so much more of this mess than they ever get criticized for. I heard someone call the 49ers the “red Cowboys” the other day and it felt closer to home than I would’ve liked. Now after that game it somehow sticks in my mind even stronger and I’m just happy I don’t have to reckon with that because I dodged the Niners fandom bullet years ago. Lights Out
40 minutes ago, ManillaToad said: Tbf I didn't notice any egregious blunders from Shanahan this time around He started calling nothing but pass plays in the 3rd quarter. By the time he started feeding McCaffrey again, he had already blown the lead and tired out his defense. Even then, he still called pass plays on a couple crucial 3rd & 4s that didn't work. 1 Quote POTD: 2/4/12 3/4/
CS85
49ers need to clear things out. This ain’t happening for them. Let their core go, start over with the coaches, and renew the energy because right now? Institution of losing when it matters. The whole mess is poisoned and it won’t get better. 3 Quote Quote "You are nothing more than a small cancer on this message board. See Red
23 minutes ago, Germanshepherd said: 12 or so straight passes to start the second half with the best running back in the NFL was odd It definitely wasn't 12 straight. The first possession they got behind the chains after a penalty. The second they ran a pass out to the flat to McCaffrey that was effectively a run. And then the third possession, the first play was a CMC run that went nowhere. So it was six plays without a run and one of them was effectively a run play. I’m wondering how many people realize just how close to the Bears this ownership group actually is. It’s better, but not by that much. ManillaToad
CMC had 30 touches tonight and had a season-low 3.6 YPC. I'm not buying that as another Shanahan choke for his resume

I'm not buying that as another Shanahan choke for his resume I'm surprised by that YPC. Thought it was higher. I guess the Chiefs defensive line was really hit or miss and the run plays were either a an easy five-or-so yards or stonewalled at the LOS; no in between. With any other RB, I can see the argument, maybe. But McCaffrey's role in the pass game makes him so dangerous, it's not like you're just not utilizing him on non-run plays. Shanahan's only fault, imo, was taking the ball first in OT. And even then, there's at least a case for it (D needing rest, plus if the Chiefs tie it, you get first crack at second possession). Still didn't like it, though.

Fowler2
I can see it now: 2 years from now at Super Bowl 60 the 49ers, on their home field, lose to Jim Harbaugh and the Chargers. Dean Freakin' Spanos gets a trophy.

Dynasty
The Chiefs eclipsed the Raiders and Broncos in Super Bowl counts within just five seasons. It's kind of wild that things like that can happen so quickly, especially given that KC trailed them by two beforehand.
