projectjohn
Tigers City Connect is debuting May 10, with merch available May 6. Most I've seen are believing it will be navy/orange and feature the '90s Tiger face logo. 5

I’ve always liked the old-timey font It alludes to the Reds’ history as the oldest MLB franchise, and ties in well with Mr. Redleg and that 19th century aesthetic. That’s one element of the current brand I’d be sad to see go. 8

FrutigerAero
Also I know it's stupid but a team named the Reds should have one uniform that is just all red (hat, shirt, pants, socks, cleats) 3 1 3

Some of the teams listed were wearing their alternates in spring training but have not worn them in the regular season. Not saying all of the teams listed are missing uniforms, because some teams go on runs of not wearing some uniforms. Also we're only 3-5 games into the season, so who knows Twins are wearing the navy blue alternate today And the Brewers cream uniforms might be the worst culprit so far of see through pants. I can clearly see where the tucked in jersey ends on the starting pitcher from the goddamn centerfield camera Quote Sorry, I'm on an iPad

The city of Cincinnati is honored for this, not the Reds. They simply benefit from it's history as they are the team that is currently (since 1881) playing in Cincinnati. 1 Quote https://dribbble.com/MakaioCall
GFB
good 90s Tigers CC inspiration: bad 90s Tigers CC inspiration: if you want the tiger-in-D cap to be ruined for you forever, have you ever noticed how the old English D has an orange outline, but the tiger parts had white outlines for reasons? compare that to the superior no-outline version on the infamous one-day-navy-alternate jersey... it makes no sense. 2
BBTV
The orange outline is unnecessary, but at that scale, the tiger might look weird if not bounded by the white outline. It’s not really an issue at the lager scale version used on the jersey 2 Quote "The views expressed here are mine and do not reflect the official opinion of my employer or the organization through which the Internet was accessed." GFB
if anything, making the logo less complex at smaller sizes is typically the best solution. Regardless, it’s one of the busiest, detailed logos I’ve ever seen… it’s probably never going to work well embroidered at that size, with or without outlines
PlayGloria
I said this earlier, but that Tigers CC graphic had tire tracks on the right hand side. There's going to be some kind of Detroit Motor City element to this thing.

You could be correct... but none of these teams has just straight up rolled out retro uniform. They need the city connect element from somewhere. And for type that's meant to invoke the past, it seems to have lived past its prime. Novelty fonts like that feel like a relic of the early 2000s or 2010s. I'd like to see the Reds follow the path of the Brewers and Twins and find ways to modernize their classic '70s look without turning it into a novelty.
