MLB 2024 Uniform/Logo Changes

1983 was the first division championship under Jerry Reinsdorf, and it involved Tony La Russa, so it's no surprise that they keep going back to those and tend to skip over the 1940s-1970s.

That’s been there for quite awhile now. They lose the button there so there’s less of an issue with the jersey script. A lot of authentics have a hidden velcro strip there to keep that spot closed.

I'm aware of previous button spacing. It looks like the gap between buttons one and two has been narrowed and the gap between buttons two and three widened...by a lot.

That’s a good point and a good observation. I think I sort of missed it because it’s buried below a mountain of other terrible ideas.

This is somewhat strange considering they have two BP hats, one of which is navy and red.

So it's looking like this may be a case of Fanatics being unable to deliver four full uniform sets to every team on time. The Mariners aren't wearing their blue/yellow/cream Sunday alts because they haven't been delivered. The Cardinals aren't expecting their powder blues to arrive until June. Maybe the White Sox throwbacks are in similar production limbo, or as is the case with so many Fanatics orders, unable to depart the FedEx facility in West Allis, Wisconsin after being shipped there for reasons unknown.

For all the bird de lis haters I think the bird de lis isnt supposed to be a pelican and a fleur de lis I think its just a fleur de lis with a pelicans head. Thats what it looks like to me. Also the flair around the tip of the beak is just flair that fleur de lis have sometimes source I am from NOLA.

Might be the reason we've seen the Blue Jays only wear their alternate for the entire series with the Rays

Did we just see an intentional leak of the Dodgers new city connect?

Highly unlikely. This just looks like a fashion jersey from the early-mid 2000s.

Yeah, that's been a fashion jersey for a good while. The big jersey store by me actually has black Ohtani jerseys in youth sizes, and they're devoid of all the little City Connect affectations, so I wouldn't read anything into it.

I noticed the Royals name change as they were playing the Twins but the Twins still have large letters on their jerseys. Are they the only team to avoid the small letters change? Also no ad patch, yet. #WINNING

Diamondbacks alternates both look fantastic. The teal really pops as intended on the red and black jerseys, but feels more muted on the home uniforms

Agreed, both of those look fantastic. I've never even considered buying a counterfeit jersey, but Nike/Fanatics and their BS is getting me closer than I've ever been. Still don't think I can do it, but I'd love to have either of those in my closet.

Can't be.. What year did they start with the giant swoosh in the front?

Nah, since they rebranded last year the names are already a little smaller than the standard block names from last year.

They also will have an ad any time now. They have moved the MN patch on the sleeve dependent on the player.

Might be, but Toronto has worn the blue alt on the road in Tampa Bay for an entire series before.

One good thing that’s come out of this Nike uniform fiasco is the fact that the Cardinals alternates are delayed until June. The gray jerseys still do not match the pants. Why is that so hard? It looks so Busch league, like they’re reusing old pants or ordered from two different suppliers. The jerseys are an unpleasant color, too. It’s a weird blue-silver and it’s shiny like cheap sublimated travel-ball jerseys. How much “innovation” did we really need in baseball uniforms? What a mess.

I'm not sure what I think of the New Yankees gray uniforms. As someone who values parallel looks between homes and roads when possible I guess it's good that both and home and away uniforms have no cuff stirpes.

More of an overall question: not considering the new template, are there any teams whose road grays are better, or at least on par with the home whites? I can't think of a single team where the road gray isn't just a worse uniform design than the home uniform

This is going to be two hot takes in one, but I love the Cardinals away jersey and I also loved when they went back to the red hat with it. The road grey set is my favorite of theirs. I love the bright red contrasting against the grey.
