The Texans are owning the leak and just posted this pic. Thick red stripe with white outline visible in the reflection on the right  GI-2sJVXIAA7pbv.jpg

And now that I see this, my suspicion is confirmed.

It looks like the [glyph forms of the] new Texans number font is based off a rectangle leaf shape:

lovepik-rectangular-leaf-shape-flow-char

I have absolutely no idea why or for what reason—or what this shape has to do with anything Houston or  Texans-related—but I don't doubt the team/Nike will [over]explain it away at the full reveal.

And also, not that this next part really means anything in the grand scheme of things, considering past uniform designs, but the total lack of a single semblance of anything "H-Town Blue" in these leaks now really has me wondering a/ if it will show up on the home sets and/or b/ exactly how it will show up period.

(Oh and it looks like the HOUSTON script is a little different from the soon-to-be-former one, which tells me a new TEXANS script is coming, as well...)

Cal McNair is a parody account.. not actually Cal. He make “himself” look purposefully awful on that account and the real Cal McNair can’t seem to do anything about it. It can be funny at times.

He did a verified AMA on Reddit via that account.

Maybe, but it could be the lighting. The Texans should have used a different combo for this, though. This combo looks like a Texas version of the Bears.

The Texans and Bears actually already had the same shade of navy.

My thoughts: mostly surprise, especially if this is the “bull” uniform. I figured there would be bull horns on the front of the helmet with that set. Too “icy” and not enough red, at least that we can see.

Not sure what to think of the number font. Will probably reserve judgment till it’s been seen on the field.

Would be really cool if the navy-heavy road set were meant to contrast a red-heavy home set, like an inverse of their original look, but I doubt it. That seems like too much cohesive thought for the walnut-brained Nike designers.

Yep, I was wrong on this one. I just assumed it was the parody Cal McNair Twitter acct that posted,  not the Reddit acct.

An abandoned warehouse seems like a very, very odd choice to have a professional football team's uniform reveal.

I'm pretty sure it's the interior of a building called Post HTX which has one of the best rooftop skyline views of the city.

Sadly Texans you have gone mid but that's because we expected you to at least go red helmets... and then you kept that bar low by disappointment.

From what's been gathered a red helmet is still strongly in the mix. Whether red will be the primary helmet/jersey choice is yet to be seen - but I think  a lot of the fan base is hoping for that.

As someone who thought the last set was near perfect, these arent bad so far. I was expecting a lot worse - and they still feel like an evolution of the old set instead of a complete overhaul. The absence of chrome so far is a good sign.

An issue with the Texans is partially playing in the AFC South against a Teal/Black, a Royal, and a Powder team that insists on navy. There’s so much dark and blue already, the red is an uncontested win for them, and sets them visibly apart from New England. Sad.

I mean, this is what I expected from Nike. They don’t have a team brand history being so new, (Oilers exist but sensitive topic), so ideas can go wild. And it feels very commander-y.  Pick your favorite top from a glossy printed sleeve cap design, and then we’ll give an unnecessarily more complex number font (I like custom fonts but really liked the current Texans font, don’t know why it needed a switch). Then they throw in plain pants (which I assume will also have in white) and we’ll see an unveiled set that is worn as monochrome a ton.

I like it! The number font is a bit wonky, but I think they were trying to match their Texans wordmark font. I think it works.

All the Texans really needed was a slight refresh of what they already have. This seems to be it, and I’m cool with it. I like the idea of changing the sleeve stripes to horns. Arizona State made their sleeve stripes a pitchfork on their final Nike set, and I always liked it. This has a very similar feel.

Mostly, I’m just glad they still look like the Texans.

I think there is pants striping. Look at the reflection on the right side of the Cal McNair picture. You can see a horizontal red stripe and a thin white stripe. Seems similar to the Rams' yellow pants design.

Here's which uniforms the Rams will wear against the Cardinals on Monday - Yahoo Sports

Looks even wider, but could just be the angle.

so what’s the red on the sleeve? Because it looks like the Nike logo is above that.

I just realized they have a texture on the numbers like the Seahawks do. I don’t hate that as much as some of the more traditional leaning people do.

It could just be perforation, though?

Also, I almost scrolled past the leak because I thought it was just the Falcons road unis. Not a terrible thing, but a very similar look.

Well the number font sucks and the numbers should be red, but I was expecting far worse. Definitely not an upgrade but, so far, not the colossal disaster I was expecting.

It's fine, but I sure wish they kept the red numbers. It helped them stand out from the Bills, Patriots, Broncos, Bears, and whatnot. More red is IMO what the team badly needs, and I'm surprised they didn't go with a red helmet, which seemed to have a lot of momentum.

Did the bottom of the 3 fall off? Woooooooof.

It looks like a 9 with a bite taken out of it. Just terrible.

The horns on the sleeves are... fine. It's basically a variation on what the jets are now getting rid of. The lack of red is very disappointing. If the rest of the uniforms were to be color swaps of this design, it would be passable (minus the numbers). But we know Nike is too enamored with their own farts to allow such a cohesive set.
