2024 NFL Changes

That "leaked" info came from a guy who also "leaked" that the Broncos were signing Tom Brady lol. It was completely made up. And honestly it's not hard at all to guess that the Broncos would incorporate some local stuff into new uniforms. Nike always does.

Well :censored:…as much as I don’t trust a guy like Brady2024 who makes up a lot of bizarre claims, the below doesn't sound too far off the rumors

Leech hints at what the redesign might look like. Here's what Leech had to say about the process of designing the new uniforms: "Part of the process was talking about, what's important for the Broncos? What's important for Broncos fans? Wanting to evolve and be new and different but also be respectful of our history and our traditions," Leech said, via the Denver Post. "Understanding our surroundings from a geographic standpoint, there will be nods to that and I think people be really excited about it."

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

From the teaser, it looks like the Bronco head is stitched, implying that it's on the actual uniform? Will it be on the shoulders?

Safe to assume that's just a social media graphic.  I wouldn't read too much into it.

Ravens wore these during practice last year- makes me wonder if they go this route with the black uni--

Paraphrasing: "The Ravens organization feel that it  has maintained a classic look with the main home/road uniforms and don't plan on tinkering with them."

That might be the best news I've heard regarding NFL uniforms in a long time. Baltimore has their flaws, but I'd much, much rather keep everything--sad bird head with shoehorned B included, IMO the weakest part of the Ravens identity--the same, warts and all, over any drastic changes to the whole set. That statement also implies that nothing huge is happening to the alternates either, which should be good news overall.

A retailer has them listed as getting a new helmet for 2024 and uses a placeholder coming soon image

Couldn't that be for a new primary?  Or does it specifically list it as a new alternate?

If the Ravens just kept it limited to these two looks, fixed (or removed) their helmet stripe and updated their workmark, number font, and "B" logo on the hip, they'd have a modern classic.  Unfortunately, those few elements severely date this set:

The old "looking forward while respecting the past" bit. The next time that approach results in a great looking uniform will also be the first time. On the bright side, the Nike-speak will be glorious. "The horse stomping across a snow covered mountain sleeves signify that Broncos Country has never lost the pioneer spirit of the 1850s. We ride in all weather. The icy blue stitching you can barely see represents the battle tested craftsmanship of the frontier. The arrow stuck in the horse's neck honors the brave wagon trains that were attacked by the Commanche. "

I hope I'm wrong, but I think this is going to be a disaster.

You have our sincere condolences in advance, Broncos fans.

Signed,

Browns fans in 2015.

They're gonna shoehorn the Colorado state flag into these unis like they did the Avs and Rox. 🤦

I’m thinking white helmet with some stupid mountain pattern in the paint, orange jerseys with white sleeves. Mountain pattern and Colorado C behind the horse. All orange pants with a 52whatever down one of the legs. White and grey socks. Maybe with a mountain pattern. It’s gonna suck and look terrible, but this won’t be far off I bet.

Oh, also, numbers with either the mountain pattern or Colorado C sublimated like the Seahawks.

I am so sick of the mountain and C for everything Colorado.  It’s beyond trite at this point.

Best they've ever looked.

They're really just a number font, helmet stripe, and wordmark update away from being excellent (especially if they'd commit full-time to the Purple pants).  This Purple fill, Gold outline look is really nice.

There would be massive visibility issues with wearing purple numbers on a black base

The most common elements of Colorado are quartzite, sandstone, agate, and gabbro. So make of that what you will.

And weed. And fentanyl. And too many soccer moms rolling around in Chevrolet Tahoes.

...Anyway, as for the Ravens, I'm GLAD they're keeping their primary looks as they are (though I'm not too keen on the black pants, at least not without similar braisher stripes to their other three pants sets). I see people remark often about how they should change their number font and such...for what? Beyond maybe the drop shadow, they just just as good now as they did 24 years ago. They're not unnecessary custom hackjobs; they—and the team wordmarks—are slightly modified from an actual real typeface (Matrix, for those not in the know) Nothing wrong with them at all.

Now I WILL say they could use an updated birdhead logo (I dunno, maybe something like...THIS?),  but beyond all that, kudos to Baltimore for actually maintaining consistency in their set for as long as they have—and being one of just two teams to have done so since the wave of mid-90s rebrands (the other being the Eagles; the Buccaneers eventually figured out their error and went back to their '97 refresh.)

I'm just mentally preparing myself for the worst with every NFL uniform change these days (that doesn't involve throwbacks)

This league just looks worse and worse every year . . .
