My pics from the Flyers/Phantoms jersey unveiling today are now up. To put the on-ice photo shoot into context, there was someone portraying Benjamin Franklin on hand for a ceremonial puck drop, they had the players skate and come to a stop right in front of the cameras for dramatic effect, and the players took shots on goal against Bernie Parent. Also, the water in front of the Jeff Carter jersey in later shots is from a demonstration of the moisture wicking technology. MeiGray also had a display showing the evolution of the Flyers jersey throughout the years.

Man, I would have been scared to take a shot on Bernie Parent.. might break him.

During the press conference, the strength of the Flyers logo as a recognized brand alongside some of the Original 6 teams like Boston, Detroit, or Montreal was mentioned and it was more or less stated that the logo will never change for that reason, so if anything does ever change with the logo, I suspect it would be little tweaks here and there like the 3D version used on the previous thirds and not a complete overhaul.

"Welcome to our jersey unveiling. Here's a display of all our previous jerseys that were better than what we're unveiling today."

That looks like a high school football jersey.

can't resist...here goes a cheer I know by heart from spending most of 4 seasons on the bench (with Stars references replacing those to my school)...

E-I-E-I-E-I-OH! (e-i-e-i-e-i-oh!)

C'MON YOU STARS LET'S GO! (c'mon you Stars let's go!)

DOOBIE DOOBIE DOOBIE DO! (doobie doobie doobie do!)

OH-OH-OHHHH! (oh-oh-ohhhh!)

LET'S GO STARS!

Im kinda worried to see what is gonna happen when all the unveilings are over and done with. We've all collectively spent so much time on this one its almost insane. Who else sees a boredom induced riot started by the CCSLC once the final unveiling happens?

The Coyotes website today mentions that they'll introduce their new jerseys tomorrow. The website describes in detail the minor changes to the jersey, as opposed to some of the other teams that hyped their jersey intros when, given the minor changes, there was no need to. The white jerseys will look great with the red pants. I can live with the red shoulder yoke in place of the waist stripes. The red would be ok if they would have made the flaps white. I think for the most part, each team's white jerseys look better than the home jerseys. Imo it makes the case for returning to home whites. I think the Coyotes may sense this as they have already announced the select games in which they'll wear their whites

Dude, I've already stocked up on pitchforks and torches. PM me and I'll let you in on the early-bird discount.

I doubt it will go that far, but I personally find a good majority of the jerseys to be complete crap... complete templated, uninspired crap.

i'm kinda hoping (though I know it won't happen) that the Coyotes decide to use cream in place of white. Only problem with that would be that I've never seen a cream helmet for anything at all. Damn NHL helmet rule (basically, you have to have home and away helmets), cus I think their crimson helmets would actually look better paired with cream sweaters than cream hats ever would.

No cream, but it's a great idea.

The Stars have announced this as well and they've also said that all of the teams will wear white for "selected home games" this season. I'm starting to like the Stars set after seeing them in action. Would still like the black better with a logo (either the Texas logo or the star). I will be envious every time we play San Jose this year. I really like theirs. Can't complain too much about the Stars, at least they didn't design something similar to the Colorado mess.

But then how will the home Stars fans know what city they're in?

Don't worry, the white jersey still says Dallas, they just have to look harder.
