No striping or trim on the helmets, jerseys, or pants, no helmet logos, and single color numbers - it's essentially a practice uniform with sewn-on numbers. I know that in these days of excessive branding and proprietary striping and piping, there's something to be said for minimalism, but for me, the Lions' throwback look just swings too far to the other end. At least it's fashionable. The regular uniforms look tacky on and off the field. The previous set was better and shouldn't have been messed with, but if you're going to add black you might as well use it properly.The Lions throwbacks are absolutely too boring for me (although I guess I don't mind them during a traditional day like Thanksgiving).And the poster who doesn't like the Jaguars in black.... I like a traditional look, but if there is no striping or outline at all it's just too boring.And as the article says, this is just for the 75th Anniversary, and they will be wearing a patch as well. They looked OK when paired with an opponent wearing throwbacks on Thanksgiving, but I can't imagine seeing them on the field with some of the more modern designs being used today.
