larrypep
The Jets sported the old New York Titans uniforms today:
LMU
I hate the use of throwbacks as alts. If you're going to have an identity, stick with it or change to a throwback-inspired design instead of changing your whole look for a couple weeks a year. That's why I love that the Chargers added powder blues in their redesign and ditched the 60s throwback look. Now, if only the Bills would just switch to their throwbacks permanently instead of keeping those silly yoked and piped things they have.

tBBP
And now that Brat done rung up a career day passing and the Tita--er, Jets won REAL big...think it's safe to say we'll be seeing these for a littl while longer, no??? *Disclaimer: I am not an authoritative expert on stuff...I just do a lot of reading and research and keep in close connect with a bunch of people who are authoritative experts on stuff. || dribbble || Behance ||

They aren't ugly at all and, like you said, the Jets have had nothing but success with them so far. They're 2-1 in them all time, losing to Philly in them @ home last year and beating the lowly Dolphins on the road in them last year (of course, the Jets were lowly too). They are wearing them again their next game--October 12 vs. Cincy after their bye week. That's all that they'll wear it for '08...though they will have a SBIII patch on their uniforms October 26th vs. KC--and don't be surprised if they wore white at home that week because they wore white in SB III...The Titans unis were supposed to be worn for the home opener vs. NE, but they scrapped that when they got Favre and pushed one of the dates to the Cards game... kmw_29
Interesting that the Jets wore green undershirts, etc. under their jersies, as did coaches under their jackets. They went to the minor trouble of doing a :censored:ty job at recoloring their logo in the endzone, so how hard would it have been to get navy colored t-shirts? Additionally, why is "Mangenious" the only one wearing a black jacket? When the team colors you are going for are navy and gold, being the only douche to wear black just makes you look like a diva. Sloppy in my opinion. Also, I think it was Coles who also had a green Jets handwarmer. I love those throwbacks, but I just wish they would care enough to go all the way with the look. stumpygremlin
The NY Titans uniform is my favorite uniform in football. I wish they'd incorporate this into their look permanently.
powersurge
UGH!I can't stand these jerseys. The yellow...gold...or whatever you want to call that puke color is absolutely horrid. It makes me wish the game was broadcast in black and white. Not to say that their REGULAR garb is much better...but these I can do without. BlueSky
The pants are pretty close to the Saints' original pants. Wish they'd go back to that shade of gold. It's pretty odd that the Jets wear these. After all, when the franchise is so horrendous that you change the name, logo, and colors of the team, one would hardly think you'd want to ever recall that era at all. Gothamite
Setting aside my general love of these uniforms, that "4" is a huge improvement over the standard varsity block number. Reportedly, we'll see the road white version next season. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog.

Gothamite
I have no strong opinion on Mangini, but in general I rather like having the head coach wearing a different color than the rest of his staff. Really makes him stand out amongst all the coordinators and assistants on the sideline, as though he's taking full responsibility for the team.I wish it was more of a team color - Mangini in green when his staff wears white and vice versa - but I like the practice. The_Admiral
It really dilutes the whole "Brett the Jet" thing to have the Jets suit up in jerseys that are hardly even identified with the team anymore. This should've been scrapped as soon as The Trade went through, to say nothing of the fact that they're just really ugly. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
boardname
These uniforms are absolutely gorgeous. The only change I'd make is to add a white outline around the numbers and names.I would love to see a team wear these full-time... but not the Jets. I know, I know - it's a nod to their history, and I get that, but throwbacks that have completely different color schemes than the accepted colors are just wrong (see: Eagles blue/gold last year). Add two white stripes to the helmet as well and these are ok in my book. On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) JetsLuvver
What is the deal with the NFL and one-sided throwback games? The plain early sixties look against Arizona's arena league gear is stupid looking. The other three "Big Four" leagues will have both teams participate, but never the NFL (since they stopped doing Thanksgiving day retros).
