Gobbi
Does anyone know if they will be selling any EQT Bucs throwbacks? On NFLshop.com, and the Bucs' team shop they only have replica and authentic for sale.
hormone
Now, why do they sell the retired greats? (I know because right now there really isn't a Buc worth buying besides Barber and a few others), but those guys never wore a throwback. They wore the original. This throwback has the NFL Equipment shield which they technically didn't wear.

If so then it wouldn't make sense seeing as both the replica and authentic have screened numbers.
BBTV
IMO, it's silly for the authentics to have screened numbers instead of twill. It doesn't matter that the originals had screened numbers - no matter how much everyone wants it to be so, these aren't the originals. They're based on them, but they include modern elements like short-cropped sleeves, the NFL Equipment logo, and "dazzle" material. If the jersey isn't an exact replica, then there's no reason to skimp on the numbers and not use sewn-in tackle twill. I would much prefer a jersey with sewn numbers than the "authentics" with the screened numbers. If the authentics had sewn-on numbers I would purchase one of those. Given that, they should have tackle-twill numbers.Still, I'll be interested to see what screened numbers look like on HDTV. Strictly for the novelty. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! powersurge
I know its been mentioned before, but I find it real funny that so many people glorify the orange creamsicle jerseys as if they were such treasures now that they are long gone. When I was growing up I couldn't find any one of my friends, family, neighbors, or anyone else that I came across that didn't describe these uniforms as "horrible" and "a complete joke". Everyone said that they needed a huge overhaul. It so happens that they went from the worst unis in pro football to the best in my opinion. I'm all for glorifying the past...but I still don't see the appeal of the old Tampa jerseys. I just don't get it....but thats just me.
The_Admiral
The new Buccaneers stuff isn't even that good. Too gimmicky in spots (that logo is so chintzy. yarr! a dead pirate on a sword I be! yarr.), not gimmicky enough in others (plain one-color block letters look kind of cheap for a Big Dynamic Redesign), and all the messing around with white at home and white pants and pewter pants and this and that throws the whole set out of balance. On the whole, they look like dulled-down 49ers. They could do better. Still, with all these flaws, it's better than the old stuff. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
Panthers
And lucky me, I have a game-issued Bucco Bruce helmet from the '96 season.
FiddySicks
So I just read this on pewterreport.com and found it interesting.Bucco Bruce is back! Bucaneers co-chairman Ed Glazer introduced the orange jerseys and throwback uniforms that the team will wear on November 8 in a home game against Green Bay. The Bucs are committed to wearing the throwbacks at least once per year over the next five years. So it looks like the throwbacks are here to stay.
