Still MIGHTY
Crap. Yeah I saw that.I knew something wasn't right with him. Usually he can get back on track after struggling, but it jsut wasn't coming.Hope the surgery goes well and he comes back strong next season.Angels sweep Padres... yawn. But how about Torii Hunter with 3 Home Runs yesterday? And today Juan Rivera gets 2 Home Runs and Jered Weaver pitches his first major league complete game shutout!Congrats to Weaver!!! | ANA | LAA | LAR | LAL | ASU | CSULB | USMNT | USWNT | LAFC | OCSC | MAN UTD |

BJ is the most expensive mop-up man in baseball history.and unfortunately now that doc is out indefinitely, we're gonna be seeing a lot more of them. tallet has been good as a starter but it's time to get cecil back up here and move tallet back to where he belongs: the 7th and 8th innings. FiddySicks
Matt Cain tossed up the second complete game of this series, beating Oakland 7-1. Nate Schierholtz not only gunned down a runner that would've scored for the second time this series, he also hustled his way to an inside the park home run. IMO Matt Cain has to get some serious consideration for starter in St. Louis, he could be the best pitcher in the NL right now. San Francisco has really made me proud this season, they aren't the most well rounded team, but as of now they're in the lead for the NL wildcard. I wish I could say the same about the A's. philly97flyer
Add to this some Mets were actually chuckling during the post game interview to make it more sickening, its almost like they like ripping the heart out of their fans on a nightly basis. Do I need more proof this team is curse, more proof that this team needs Mark Cuban, more proof they need a new GM, a new manager, and a new coaching staff.Having arrogant players who act like they've won 10 WS championships doesn't equate to a curse... it just means they have bad character players. Not saying this next part as a Phillies fan, but just as an objective observer (or at least as objective as I can possibly be) - a team can't win with guys that have attitudes like Reyes and K-Rod. Even Beltran seems like he may have fallen victim to the "I'm a star" syndrome, and adding Sheffield didn't help either. The thing that helped the Phillies so much in recent years was dropping those low-character players (guys like Abreu) and bringing in (or bringing up) "professionals". Sure, it helps that those players have a lot of ability, but the attitude matters just as much.Ive been saying that for at least 3 years on this board. The thing that pisses me off the most about the Mets (and their fans) is that they dance around the field, and stands for that matter, like theyve won something. The over celebrating does nothing except infuriate the other team and give people a reason to enjoy watching them fail. Several Phillies are on record as saying there have been times when the antics of Reyes, Delgado, etc have woken them up. The 17 different dances with each player back in the dugout after a home run isnt professional. Its immature and unnecessary. So dont talk to me about being cursed. Its nothing other than the neglect of your GM to get character players.

Still MIGHTY
Barry Zito should just retire.I say the same about the Angels bullpen... It's not totally Zito's fault, but I will say the Angels are ROLLING right now. Something like 14 home runs in the past 4 or 5 games. Also a congrats to John Lackey, his first major league hit and RBI. He's now 1 for 28 lifetime at the plate lol. Wang should be the long man for now. I have a feeling that his confidence was severly shaken by his uncharacteristically poor performance at the beginning of the season when his ERA was around 35. I also feel that his foot injury from last season either isn't fully healed or has casued him other problems with his mechanics.
