2009 MLB Season Thread

Chien-Ming Wang currently has an E.R.A. of 21+.

Why the hell is this man still pitching? Jeez louise, EVERY TIME he's gone out there he's getting shelled. I'm surprised that the Yankees of all teams are actually keeping this guy in their rotation for the time being, because 2009 has been asinine for Wang.

And Hanson got his first win today. He wasn't as sharp as we was on Sunday (if that makes sense, considering he gave up 6 runs on Sunday and only 2 tonight), but he still pitched a good game and put the Braves in a position to win. And yeah, hopefully the Red Sox & Yankees help us out a little bit more before we get a shot at em. :P

Add to this some Mets were actually chuckling during the post game interview to make it more sickening, its almost like they like ripping the heart out of their fans on a nightly basis.

Do I need more proof this team is curse, more proof that this team needs Mark Cuban, more proof they need a new GM, a new manager, and a new coaching staff.

Went to the Giants A's game last night and got to see Tim Lincecum pitch nine full of shut out ball. It's incomprehensible just how good this guy is untill you see him pitch live.

Having arrogant players who act like they've won 10 WS championships doesn't equate to a curse... it just means they have bad character players.

Not saying this next part as a Phillies fan, but just as an objective observer (or at least as objective as I can possibly be) - a team can't win with guys that have attitudes like Reyes and K-Rod. Even Beltran seems like he may have fallen victim to the "I'm a star" syndrome, and adding Sheffield didn't help either.

The thing that helped the Phillies so much in recent years was dropping those low-character players (guys like Abreu) and bringing in (or bringing up) "professionals". Sure, it helps that those players have a lot of ability, but the attitude matters just as much.

Well K-Rod has won something and seems to backs up what he does, but Reyes act has grown tiresome, its time he either grows up or gets out. Sheffield has a chip on his shoulder which is a good thing for this team, because the past few years at least in 2007 was the Mets had a belief they would pull it out in the end and did not have to work hard to do so, an attitude that was even expressed by Willie Randolph. What aggravates me is that their GM never seems to be looking for these players, Raul Ibanez would have been a perfect addition this off-season but they never even seemed to give him a look.
