I do not like the Bills opening on MNF at all, especially in New England in Tom Brady's reunion game. Even if this was in Buffalo it would be reasonable, but I can't see the Bills winning the game. They have not beat New England since the opener in 2003, 6 years, I can't see them beating them on this opening day.

Todd McShay has lost the plot.

If you're reading this Todd, I have news for you. Michael Crabtree could be the second coming of Jerry Rice, and he wouldn't provide as much value to the Rams as an offensive tackle, because with the current set of tackles, Bulger, or any QB for that matter, won't stay upright long enough to get the ball to Crabtree.

Really getting away from the "traditional" pre-season matchups. Eagles pre-season used to always be NE, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and NYJ. Last couple of years they mixed in Carolina for some stupid reason (not sure why an NFC team would play another NFC team in the preseason) and now they're playing IND and JAX. Weird (though good, because I'll get to see the new Jags uniform up close in person... and they'll probably wear their home even though the game is in Phila.)

I don't know about that... The problem isn't Rodgers though, it's the defense which new coordinator Dom Capers is revamping into a 3-4 - a new scheme with a whole new playbook. The Packers' 2009 season is going to ride on how quickly and smoothly the defensive linemen and LBs can make that transition. I can see the Bears coming into Lambeau, taking advantage of a Packers' defense that still doesn't have the 3-4 scheme quite down yet, and stealing this one on opening week.

I doubt this will happen--and really can't see how it could happen, but...

...if McDaniels somehow figured out a way to convince Scott Pioli to draw up a one-for one, we might have a pretty interesting scenario:

Cassell for Cutler.

(And oh what the hell...they might just throw Larry Johnson in there for the heck of it. Denver likes RB's, right? :D )

Hey--it was just a passing thought! But...I think Cutler would look pretty good in Chiefs red and (yellow)gold.

Truthfully, though...for some inane reason, I can kinda see Cutler ending up as Jeff George 2.0. Rocket arm with a serious temper issue. So long as he doesn't become a journeyman...

Well...Whitlock could use another player to advance as a cause.

Jason Whitlock (of the Kansas City Star) has a strange obsession with Jeff George.

I sincerely hope that the Lions keep away from Cutler. Thats a match made in Hell it seems to me. I think the Jets could be a possibility except that Rex Ryan came up through the Ravens organisation that never seems to have put a high premium on the QB position. The Browns might be a possibility I suppose, they could trade one of Anderson or Quinn and maybe a pick to Broncos, and maybe then having a good backup might be a bit of a kick up the backside for Cutler to keep him straight?

But personally I am not sure Cutler has done himself any favors this off season. Sure he was upset by the Cassell trade move, but in the end he comes off as a spoilt little brat, who hasn't done a whole lot in the NFL yet, and acts like he is on a par with Brady or Manning. That puts a lot of pressure on him wherever he ends up next.

Of course it could all be a ploy on the part of the Broncos to show Cutler how untradable he really is and that he needs to get over himself and start playing football again.

Carl Peterson was fired. Herman Edwards was fired. Gunther Cunningham signed with Detroit. Pioli was hired. Cutler's out of this division. Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels wants my team's quarterback. This is truly the best offseason ever.
