No wait, we keep our picks THIS year...this is for our 2nd round pick NEXT YEAR. Dimitroff just swindled the hell out of the Chiefs.

GREAT trade. I literally did a fist pump when I saw this news.

I assume KC is banking on the "Falcons have never been to the playoffs in consecutive seasons" trend continuing on.

The Falcons and Chiefs may not be done with each other:

I was somewhat surprised that the Chiefs settled for a 2010 second round pick, since they've been asking for a pick, or picks for this weekends draft, which makes me believe that an agreement between Thomas Dimitroff and Scott Pioli may have already been reached for a trade that will go down on Saturday. The Falcons biggest need, is the Chiefs biggest burden at this time, and his name is Glenn Dorsey. Dorsey isn't a fit for the Chiefs new 3-4 scheme, but would be an ideal addition in the middle of the Falcons defensive line. The Chiefs didn't acquire the 2009 picks they were seeking for Tony Gonzalez, but the Falcons could help their cause in a draft-day trade on Saturday. -Al Fronczak

Considering that the Chiefs have done something like this before (with the Vrabel coming to KC after Cassel), this may be legitimate. If it is, then my head is going to explode. I'd definitely take Dorsey for a pick this year, hell the Falcons were debating between Ryan and Dorsey at this time last year. How awesome would it be if they were to get BOTH?

That would be so awesome. I'd trade the first rounder this year. That's top-5 talent we'd get with the 24th pick.

Looks like Pioli likes making deals with his former co-workers.

If Dorsey gets traded here, I would seriously consider buying season tickets. That student debt can wait......

Don't get crazy. They lost 5 starters on defense, they have a much tougher schedule, teams won't be underestimating them this year, and Ryan hit the wall towards the end of last season (check his stats). I can only hope Matty runs into a sophomore jinx. They also had some luck last year. Ryan tossed up some Favre-esque heaves that just as easily could have been picked as completed. There were at least two I can think of in the game at New Orleans that would have been definite interceptions if the Saints' DBs had normal ball skills (as opposed to flailing their arms then falling down).

They start with Miami and Carolina at home then go to New England. That's not an easy start by any stretch.

After drafting Ohio State RB Beanie Wells, the Cardinals have released free agent bust Edgerrin James.

Also, the Jets have officially cut Brett Favre, thus making him a free agent, for anyone who remotely cares. :P

THE LIONS JUST ACQUIRED BOLDIN!!!!!!

(that's Demir Boldin, Anquan's brother)

Nice try :D, we all know that Anquan will resign with the redbirds.

On the plus side, Drew Henson was cut though.

Makes you wonder what ever happened to the guy who backed him up at Michigan? Heard he's playing in New England

Shawn Andrews working at right tackle while Stacy Andrews is still rehabbing. Intersesting note is that he might stay at right tackle, and Stacy will move to guard when he comes back.

Also, apparently John Runyan's locker is still there with all of his stuff in it... neither side has ruled out big John's return, though I can't imagine he'd accept a non-starting role.

I wonder if he would have had a decent pro career, had he just picked either MLB or NFL and just stuck with it, instead of jumping back and forth between both sports.

Drew went to Michigan because of one thing. He could not hit a minor/major league breaking ball. Look at his stats.

I am surprised that there has not been a link about the Saints staying in the Superdome. FYI: The New Orleans Center, which the Benson Family is taking over, once occupied the Hyatt Regency and a mall. The Hyatt has not returned since Katrina.

Saints commit to a new Superdome lease
