Lots of teams with that style do that, and I don't know why. They should be parallel. The Pirates would look great either way, but all jerseys should be the same cut IMO.Also, I HATE!!! the placement of the front number on that alt. Come to think of it, I don't really like that alt. at all - it looks more like a fashion jersey and not a gamer. Getting rid of the double outline would help a lot (same with the cap.) Also, I think it would look better as a road-alt than a home one. They'll wear it too much, I bet.Any vest looks good IMONo vest looks good, not in the majors. Everyone should have the same cut. I don't want some teams in vests, some in short sleeves, some in long sleeves, some in shorts, some in kilts...no. Ditching the red is the best thing this club has done in 16 years. The question now is, did they change the MLB logo on their merch from black/red to black/gold? tp49 Posted January 23, 2009 Share Posted January 23, 2009 I loved the Pirates' home and road vests. They were the only team (well them and the Reds) who should have stayed in vests. I hated the Sunday pinstripe vests and think those should have been ditched. I agree with others whoh have stated that the numbers on the front are too much clutter. I can live with the sleeves as the jerseys still look good.As for the alternate, I don't like the front number and I don't like the white outline. And evidently I'm alone in liking the pirate head, but I figure it wouldn't kill em to make his bandana gold. I liked the vests, so I'm sad to see the home/away ones go, the new home reminds me a bit of this fauxback Roberto Clemente jersey I've seen in Eastbay. Yes, they lost those cool vests, but I have to admit the rest of their set is sharp. That is one of the sexiest road uniforms I've seen.
