HedleyLamarr Posted September 11, 2010 Share Posted September 11, 2010 Just out of curiosity, what do you guys think the point of equilibrium is for major league talent? 16 teams were too few once the game grew and integrated, but 30 teams are clearly too many until Cubans can participate freely and the game grows elsewhere (or even domestically, God willing).I think 30 teams is about right. Especially with pitching being the story of the 2010 season.MLB looked pretty healthy, talent-wise, back in 1992 when there were 26 teams. They probably expanded too quickly by bringing in four teams in six years, and two of those seasons got shortened by the '94-'95 strike. Pitching fell well behind the hitting. Last night on a Cruz home run in the 13th, tonight on a bases loaded HBP to Francoeur in the bottom of the 9th.
