Arkansas' WRs lost that game. The one guy who caught a pass in crunch time for the Hogs was a guy in a silver helmet.

Anyways, congratulations Ohio State. Sugar Bowl Champions, & their first victory over an SEC team in a Bowl game after nine previous failures. You done good, Buckeyes.

We escaped is more like it but I'll gladly take it. By the way folks, that's two straight BCS wins for my guys. Can we go pick on someone else for a while now? :D

Damn, Arkansas is really good. Whew. What a night. Cola got his wish, that was one helluva game. We saw the best of both teams tonight. Ohio State in the first half, Arkansas in the second. I know it's a cliche but it really was a shame that someone had to lose that one.

Absolutely. Can we start with USC and UCLA?

I was thinking Miami or Texas but USC and UCLA work.

I don't feel like Ohio State won. I feel like they didn't lose. I'll take it though. What a relief and how unbelievably lucky did OSU get when Arkansas didn't return the blocked punt for a touchdown? Holy cow.

The thing is, I had a feeling it was going to happen. Tressell was going to sit on his lead, which is fine if you're playing Minnesota, but this is the SEC. They have athletes who are going to jump all over a chance like that.

Also, forward progress, officials? Ever heard of it? That should not have been a safety. I've seen much worse that I thought was a safety not get called and spotted at the one. That was the point where things really took a turn for the worst.

Same here. Going into halftime I said to my girlfriend "If Tressel does what he usually does and tries to run out 30 minutes of clock we'll lose this game." He did just that and if not for some drops by Arkansas and the one bad throw Ryan Mallet made all night, Arkansas wins that game. At 28-7 I also said "whatever you do Tressel, don't take your foot off the gas." You're right, this wasn't a game against a Big Ten team. When you play the SEC you better play for keeps. The Buckeyes escaped with more points than Arkansas did to be sure but they also showed in the first half that they are capable of playing against the big boys. In any case, it was one helluva game.

I thought the safety call was legit. It could have gone either way.

Safety call was legit because Herron disengaged from Leon before the whistle blew; had he gone down in the endzone whilst still in the grasp of or by the contact of Leon it would have been forward progress to the 2 . . . since he "got away"--however briefly--& then was brought down, it's a safety.

Fun-to-watch game, but not great, of course.

& yes, as a Youngstown State alum, I can understand the annoyance of close-to-the-vest 2nd halves.

Picking on UCLA would be a challenge. Like, you know Miami, Texas, & USC are gonna get their :censored: together eventually & we're all gonna look like jackasses. UCLA, on the other hand, is over in the Rose Bowl acting like the Cantgetright Kids. Picking on them would be fun, making us small fans feel like bullies for a change.

IF that doesn't sound like it makes sense, it's because it probably doesn't. I need sleep.

I'm happy Ohio State won, just to get a little respect back for the Big Ten. But it could have been a lot different if Arkansas had Greg Childs (or anyone that could actually catch). And I don't like OSU as much as the next guy, but they've been doing great for all the bashing they get. It seems like everyone forgets that they beat a very good Oregon team in the Rose Bowl. Two losses in the National Title Game aren't anything to look down on either. Oh, and how much ink can Pryor get for that MVP trophy?

No, they'll wait a while. They'll do it when the media isn't paying such close attention to them. They do it now and they're going to look like total douchebags. My guess is it happens during the next big scandal story ESPN creates...err...covers or it will happen during Super Bowl week.

Wow, small world. Both my parents are YSU alums and I was born in Youngstown (my family still lives there).

And wow, that was an exciting ending.

...Yeah I'd say a week is about right.

It won't be longer than 10 days because underclassmen (redshirt sophomores and juniors) have to declare by January 15.

It's obvious Harbaugh is not going to Michigan so maybe the Wolverines should try to go after TCU's Gary Patterson.

He won't take the job after the way Michigan treated the last guy who didn't speak with Schembechler.

Also, guess who's embarking on a National Coaching Search in the heart of recruiting season? I hope folks up in Ann Arbor liked going to Jacksonville, cause you ain't going back to a Bowl any time soon.

/Has Robinson announced his intent to transfer yet?

Patterson already earns about $2.5MM (before bonuses), is going to a BCS conference in a season, will have a new stadium, and TCU already has the 12th biggest football budget in the FBS. They have boosters who will throw more money at him if needed (it only took 34 donors to give the school $105MM for the stadium project). In addition, his wife is a Fort Worth local, so I am not sure if she would want to be in a Michigan winter.
