In our first offseason news, Jhonny Peralta is (still) a Tiger for 2 years, 11-mil.

I guess there's a multi-million dollar premium on guys with funny spelled first names, because that's an awful overpay for a light bat and :censored:ty defense.

The funniest thing is this comes AFTER a $1M buyout.

Either prices are going to SKYROCKET this offseason, or the Tigers just have money to blow and aren't very discriminatory on how they're going to blow it.

With a weak Shortstop class this year, I can see why they pulled the trigger to resign him. But doesn't mean I like this signing. Go and get a Orlando Cabrera or Miguel Tejada.

My money is the Tigers will make a huge splash this off-season by signing Crawford and a mid rotation starter probably take a stab at Webb

Miguel Tejada no longer has the range to play SS and really isn't much of a hitter either. Peralta is at least even with him at this point in his career.

I've liked the idea of taking a chance of Webb, but I recently saw he was throwing in the low 80s. I think he's down. It's sad to see such a great pitcher have his career cut short because of injuries.

Personally I think what the Mets are doing is smart. They're adding a lot of good pieces to the front office. They just added former Dodgers GM, Billy Beene's sidekick, and sabremetrics God Paul DePodesta. This was just days after they added JP Riccardi too. At least they're trying.

Don't even bother bringing up sabremetrics with Tank. They're "evil" in his opinion, because God forbid that the Cy Young is decided on anything other than wins.

Well they are bringing in proven people to help the minor league system which was ignored by Omar, and was my biggest issue with Omar. I just want a better Manager than Terry Collins. Give me Wally Backman, Clint Hurdle or Bobby V. Hell I would even take John Gibbons over Collins.

No it won't. It will continue to be a rotation of the Yankees, Red Sox, Phillies, Cardinals, and Cubs, and the rest of the league may as well not even exist. And I'm sure ESPN has a new panel of east-coast blowhards lined up to replace the old one.
