LOGO FAIL!!!

I went to Northwestern and am ashamed at this GARBAGE.

Not only does the logo suck be we can't count to twelve!

EPIC FAIL!!!

But this logo leaves the door open for future expansion without having to do another re-branding.

Can't wait for this headline: Indy Set For Showdown Between Leaders', Legends' Leaders

Which name goes with which group of teams?

Legends: Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota (LOL), Northwestern (LOL), Michigan, and Michigan State

Leaders: Ohio State, Penn State, Illinois (ROFL), Indiana (WTF), Wisconsin, and Purdue.

Might as well be Division 1 and Division A with names as meaningful as those.

The more I look at it, the more it reads B10 TEN. Maybe the B10 will be used more often as a stand-alone icon.

According to the program, that's the case. The B10 in particular is going to be their "New Media" logo.

Just so people know, it was Pentagram (http://pentagram.com/en/) who designed the logo. I see what they're trying to do, it's a nice visual play, with the Big also reading as a B-10 and all the variations that go along with it. The type is well done, it's Vitesse from Hoefler & Frere-Jones (www.typography.com) but it's wayyy too corporate and plain. This would be good for a company but not for a major athletic conference.

Why in the world do they still call a division with twelve teams the Big Ten? Traditional or not, it sounds awfully stupid.

I actually agree. No conference should use numbers anymore as teams keep on shuffling around...Why would they keep a name that is "traditional" when they :censored: on tradition any other change they get? This was a golden opportunity to name it the "Big Midwest" or something that will continue to ring true regardless of number of teams (or maybe not, considering they were considering Texas").

As for...

...logo. Ugh. Not just uninspired, but stupid...The "B10" is not too impressive anyway, but particularly when the G = 0 is less than obvious.. The Big Ten logo with the "11" was very good. There were some concepts here working in the "12"...This is horrid.

...Divisions. Ugh. I already forgot which division Wisconsin is in (as well as their rivals). Just go Red and Blue...or A and B...(or cash and money). Legends and leaders? What? As someone mentioned, the ACC, in comparison, has nothing to feel bad about with "Atlantic" and "Coastal".

It's overused, but accurate: Epic Fail.

Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse."
