I can't recall if this debate has been resolved, but Varlamov was introduced by the Avalanche yesterday and had his Avs jersey with his name and number. The Reebok logo was the script one, not the vector one. Now is this because they use the replicas or is this a permanent change? It's also been shown in the EA Sports NHL 12 screenshots as mentioned on here before. Anyways, here's the pic:

I don't get the hate for the Sharks' orange color. It looks excellent with their current shade of teal. I hated the old teal-and-gray uniforms anyway, it was almost too "cold" of a color scheme for San Jose, if that makes any sense.

Honestly, I think about Great White Sharks, I think of the big rough and cold waters of Northern California. The majority of beaches in the bay area don't look anything like the sunny and warm spots you see down south. They're rough, dangerous, cold, and overcast. The colors worked perfectly IMO.

NHL 12 is going to have a Winter Classic feature this year but with Penguins vs. Capitals again. So their won't be any leaked Winter Classic uniforms through NHL 12.

Woah! You think I'm Cody? My name is Carl Scott Simone and we just happen to share a birthday. BIG DEAL.

Yeah I'm excited for that feature it looks sick. I wonder if there will be any change in gameplay since they added in snow. Also you can play with any 2 teams, not just the Pens and Caps.

That and as someone said above "Pacific Gold" is not "Gold" as in "Golden State." It's a burnt orange color that was given a designer name.

Where did this "Pacific Gold" stuff come from? It's always been called "Burnt Orange" as far as I've ever known.

This is another example of how older versions of Illustrator reproduces certain colors badly...in a lot of cases, the Burnt Orange seems to come out more yellowish...but it really is a Burnt Orange.

Yeah there was and interview somewhere that said you can take any two teams you'd like into the game.

Maybe I'm pulling a complete brain fart here, but if they want their own new " modern classic " look why not go just black and white as opposed to the blue? I don't think there's a single team to really be identified with those two colours alone in the NHL. I know there is an old Hawks jersey (if i'm not mistaken), but no real identity formed around just black and white.

There's silver on those jerseys as well, and they just made that switch, when i think kings I think purple and yellow, and chevy's.

Having been to LA at least once, I think the chevy-ness of the Gretzky era logo is very appropriate. There were Camaros everywhere.

Semi-expected Panthers news via George Richards of the Miami Herald:

-- The Panthers will have different looking road jerseys next season, although it sounds like they will look a lot like their old ones. They will be white with red on the shoulders. The yellow piping down the front is gone though.

Looks like it'll be a white version of the new red sweater. I think I heard somewhere they are keeping the dreadful blue/blue 3rds for at least one more season. I'd rather they make a new navy one or just have no 3rd for a year instead of keeping that light blue crap around. A clean break from that would be nice.

Well at least that awful, apron stringed, navy jersey is gone...

Getting back to the Sharks logo. I really didn't like the updated look. Heck I think we all called it "Sharkachu" for it's anime style look. It can be improved and less cartoon style if they tweaked it a bit. And don't get me started with the orange. A travesty that they pushed that during the playoffs here. For a team that is known as "Team Teal" wearing those brutal BlackArmor jerseys with attempting to do an orange out, is rediculous.

I will share one thing though. When at a playoff game, this lady had this jersey on.

It was a legit Edge jersey with the material and everything. Didn't get a chance to ask where she got it, but to see that fin logo on the side compared to the full body shark, already made me like it.
