FiddySicks
So UCLA is wearing white hats, and Stanford is wearing black hats. Seeing Stanford in black vs Notre dame with their crazy shiny helmets is kind of jarring. As much as I loved Notre Dame's new lids when I first saw them, I'm just not so sure what to think of them now. Every stick mark can be seen from space on those things. WizKid
In their 1st round FCS playoff game, Old Dominion wore black uniforms with navy blue numbers outlined in silver. What?????!!! Hold up, if ODU wore that combo then what did Norfolk State wear? GrizzlyBlack Designs, UDC Firebird
DPV713
Not too bad with Stanford PC. Honestly, if the black was replaced with dark green, it'd look better. Then again, it would look even better in standard red and white...
BRice16
Duke is wearing White-White-Black today vs North Carolina Carolina Blue-Carolina Blue-WhiteFinally, Virginia Tech are wearing their striped white pants.I know people will probably disagree, but I think Tennessee needs to have their "T" on their helmet outlined in Black to match their jersey, or they need to just look the black outlining the numbers because their whole set does not look good. The colors of orange are different and it is just annoying looking at them.Picture of Tennessee vs KentuckyThe oranges are identical on each uniform element. Great care and effort has been taken this year to ensure that.

BRice16
Interesting note on the UCLA unis tonight, unlike the pics from the UCLA site, the jerseys are NOT Techfit, they're the same cut as the Tennessee white jerseys.

TFoA
Hm, the only thing I like about UCLA's uniforms is that they brought back the numbers. I used to prefer the block numbers, but after seeing these numbers in action, I've flipped sides.Which begs the question: If UCLA can wear these numbers on an alternate jersey, why can't/won't they put it back on the regular jerseys? Sport
I'm okay with UCLA monkeying with the away uniform as that's traditionally undergone more changes than the home uniform. If they touch the home uniform (outside of the numbers) I won't be happy. And yes, these numbers need to come back.
ARTnSocal
>>>>What a major disappointment seeing UCLA in all-white for this particular game ...They could have done this for ANY OTHER game but this one and it would have been fine. Many of us grew up loving the color vs color before the Bruins moved to the Rose Bowl in '82 when the Raiders came the tradition stopped. They finally bring the tradition back a few years ago thanks to Pete Carroll initiating it and now UCLA lets Adidas come up with these all-whites that aren't even throwbacks, with the exception of the jersey numbers Stripes on the upper pants only? Oh wow, how cool ... Bring back the color vs color tradition FFS.

logo-maker
I wonder why the stripes on UCLA's pants don't go all the way down the side of the pant leg. Does anyone else think this is odd?

Wouldn't want to see it full time, (they have one of the best looks in CFB) but as a one-off or occasional alt, they're pretty nice. It sucks that they picked the USC game to wear them though. The "all-color" game they play is in my opinion the best looking college game of the year; hell, it's probably the best looking football game period. I've haven't liked ND's new "paint scheme" from the start. To me, they make their helmets look cheap in a broke-ass Wal-Mart fashion helmet sort of way. I get what they were going for but it's way too much. They just look bad. I bet they don't come back next season.
HighCheese
UCLA would look better if it was their normal baby blue instead of Navy
CAB
I agree with the above post, although I think for one game the navy works. The uniform looks near perfect except for the horrendous half-stripe on the pants.Pic
swilson160
Was at the UCLA/USC game, student section.First of all, 50-0. Hahahahahahahahahaha! As for the jerseys, I generally liked them--just not for UCLA and especially not for this game. The "UCLA stripes" were on the arms, not the shoulders, meaning they were not true UCLA stripes. And the players were very inconsistent in whether or how they wore the compression shirts with the stripes--some didn't, so they had no stripes at all; others had them at the end of the sleeve with no white space on one side; and some were scrunched up. I'd like putting stripes on the shirts if everyone was required to wear them properly, but as it is, it just ruins the uniformity of the uniform. And UCLA specifically should never have the stripe on the shirt, it should always be on the shoulders, even if it is the shortened Techfit abomination version. The other issue was the colors--powder blue and gold are the primary colors for the UCLA football team, yet the jersey was nearly all navy and white, with minimal gold striping and outlines, and no powder to speak of. It looked like a Cal uniform, not a UCLA uniform. Only the numbers and the script logo made this look remotely like a UCLA uniform. And why against USC? This article from a Bruins blogger says it as well as I ever could:Let me get this straight: After refusing to do anything cool with the uniforms and sticking with tradition, UCLA is going to break tradition for the one game when flying your True Blue colors means more than anything else. Seriously? The one time when you want everyone wearing blue no matter what, UCLA is going with surrender-flag white? (BruinsNation.com)It almost felt a little less satisfying beating them because they didn't look like them. I imagine the white helmets may be retired after the thrashing tonight. Hopefully not, though, because they look fine for a game against Colorado or Arizona. Add real UCLA stripes to the uniform and it's a solid set (and swap navy for powder blue and it would be even better).

DPV713
As a one game uniform against any other team in the nation, those UCLA jerseys were fantastic. As a one game uniform against USC, those jerseys shouldn't have been worn.
