I'm totally with Mockba on this. My team is pretty much out of it, but I would LOVE to see a Florida-Phoenix final just to see all the heads explode around here...

yeah thats really a likely scenario... Phoenix having hockey team is the perfect summation of Gary Bettman's incompetence. Haven't made a profit in the entire span of the franchise. As for them being in the playoffs? Who cares. They've yet to win a series which is a trend that will continue this year all the way to their inevitable relocation. How anyone can support this garbage franchise and slam the Jets is beyond me.

He actually sustained the concussion a few days earlier when he realized that he was probably going to end up in Combus, Ohio, and began slamming his head against his locker out of frustration.

Is Sean Avery done with hockey?

Avery said Monday night during an After Show segment of Bravo TV's Watch What Happens Live that he was leaving the game. When asked about his hockey future, Avery said, "I am officially retired. I threw my skates in the Hudson."

They'll be of more use there than they were on NHL ice...

Good riddance to bad douchbags...

It's confirmed on the pens site, and the mass text alert to fans.

To this I say: No. Why Thursday. Don't get me wrong, it's great to see him back, especially since I have tickets to his first home game back (part deux!) next week, but that's what they should have waited for. A game against an inferior opponent at home. Not a very important, must-win game against the top team in the conference.

Here's to hoping Sid still has that flair for the dramatic.

Why Thursday.

Because he's gotta play against the tough competition eventually.

I understand, but the team is on a nine game win streak going in to a very important game. Why throw off the chemistry now? If they had gone something like five-and-five in their last ten, I'd have no problem with it. Now, granted, after thinking it over I probably have nothing to worry about because: A. They're not breaking up the top two lines, and B. He's still really damn good. We'll just have to wait and see.

If there's any consolation, at least he gets a game under his belt before going to Philly, which has always been his playground.

They're testing it in the AHL next year.

It's a line drawn across the top of the playoff circles. The idea is that a pass that crosses the red line would be illegal if the player making the pass was behind the "ringette line" in their own zone. It's being championed by Scotty Bowman.

Red Wings alumni don't seem to be short of bad ideas, given that Yzerman wants to eliminate the two line pass, period.
