Dolphins considering in 2013 logo change

The Dolphins are a unique case where their old logo was really good, and the tweak was great too (IMO), but it was more of a lateral move. They improved some things immensely, but definitely did some things wrong. Really though, if they ditch that crap navy and gave the uniforms a bit of an upgrade they'd be perfect. I would love to see them use the M logo that's on the dolphin's helmet as their new sleeve logos. It's pretty simple and may have to be tweaked slightly, but it could really give them a classic vibe. I love the primary logo, but having it on the helmets and jerseys is a bit overkill IMO.

I'd expect the logo would be a tweak, so here is what I'm thinking of something that is more acceptable:

I changed one thing that I would to to add on your tweaked logo...

I would get rid of navy from the unis and logo and I would also get rid of the stupid drop shadow... Bright up the jersey a tad and i think they would be perfect.

I'd be in support of double teal... er, aqua.

Just. Remove. The. Navy.

If the Dolphins removed navy from their identity, it would go to top 10 in the league. The stripes are great, but everything is so muddled by the navy. Sure, Nike can make them modern, but it would behoove them just to remove the navy from every place.

yes!

Why does everyone want to wear black or navy and if they can't, they add it in some form. Dolphins, Lions, Bucs, Titans, Bills kept some even after they got away from their Montreal Alouettes look.

Uh... Titans kind of use navy because it's one of their primary colors.

Unless you're meaning black, but they don't use black... so not sure.

Black and navy merchandise sells better than any other colors. It's pretty much as simple as that.

I've always thought that their logo could use the same kind of face lift that the Cardinals, Seahawks, and Panthers gave their logos. I feel the same way for the Jaguars.

I think the Jags logo is perfect the way it is. But the other teams really needed something.

i wouldnt mind the fins replacing the navy with the greyish/gunmetal of an actual dolphin. with that i also wouldnt mind, as others have noted on this board, to change the helmet logo to either the "M" logo on the actual dolphin's helmet in the current logo, or even swap in the training camp logo the fins have used....879.gif

Yes on the gray...no on everything else. Replacing the current logo with either of those two options would be a downgrade.

They were light blue, red, white in Houston and when they first moved to Tenn. They they also adopted navy. Light blue is their primary color for the last couple of years but still have navy in the trim and pants.

We might as well make all 32 teams black. I'll run to the store and buy a black and white TV since every team will be wearing white vs black. No need for color. :cursing:

I get that Dolphins are grey but look at the rest of the league, Ravens are not purple, Buffalos are not blue with a red stripe, Lions are not blue, Rams are not blue, ect... We don't have to have the color scheme of a dolphin. Since 1966 we have been Aqua and Orange, why change that?

Also I am a huge fan of the old sun so I hope they bring that back

I always thought the older dolphin looked like a blob. The current dolphin was a huge upgrade over the old when it came out IMO. Guess I'll wait til something concrete comes up, as shrimp and bad pizza have addled my mind right now. My opinion would be substandard, and also suck.

funny, I just posted this on the concepts forum yesterday..

old-%2526-new.png

I wanted to incorporate elements of both logos, so I used the sun & body shape of the old with the detail of the new minus the navy.

and some helmet renders

This is actually really good! I like it alot! Just to compare, Can you do one that is the same except having the Dolphin jumping through the hoop like the logo in 1972?

Story B: Red Wings go undefeated and score 100 goals in every game. They also beat a team comprised of Godzilla, the ghost of Abraham Lincoln, 2 Power Rangers and Betty White. Oh, and they played in the middle of Iraq on a military base. In the sand. With no ice. Santa gave them special sand-skates that allowed them to play in shorts and t-shirts in 115 degree weather. Jesus, Zeus and Buddha watched from the sidelines and ate cotton candy.
