Just burnt a freebie Blues hat.

Also removed Blues license plate frame.

Wish I could be indifferent, but just so angry instead.

So when does the NHLPA decertify?

The NHL is refusing to negotiate, you know owners suck they are the ones who made these big deals nobody put a gun to their head when they offered them.

Wow, things were looking up about an hour or so ago. Fehr's press conference made it sound like they agreed on the money issue and that the players were willing to compromise on the other areas (8 year CBA vs 10, max 8 year contracts vs 5). I've been optimistic all along that they'd have a season. Not anymore.

Remember the optimism? the podium? the media pizza party? It's all gone.

This is over.

Make whole is off the table, all advancements this week are off the table, owners are "beisde themselves" on the players reaction to the owner's "concessions", limits on guaranteed contract lengths are the "hill [the owners] will die on". And the reaction from both sides was just so painfully and life-suckingly predicatable, but... ugh

Where the hell else do they go from here? Decertification? "We don't view that as very impactful" - Bettman.

We. Are. Done.

...and with that, the NHL died and was never seen again.

Good riddance. Time for a new hockey league with competent people in charge.

Agreed. In the meantime I've actually found watching ECHL and to a lesser extent AHL quite satisfying. Not sure I'd ever need the NHL to come back.

And where would those teams play? Seriously.

If top level hockey came back as a 16 team league, what venues could they actually play in in which they could gather a TV contract as well as gate revenue?

Plenty of city owned arenas in both countries that would no longer be occupied by NHL teams.

Jeez it just keeps getting better. The owners not only rejected the PA's offer, they pulled part of their own offer off the table.

Can we stop saying "both sides are to blame" now? It's quite clear that the owners are not negotiating in good faith.

They sure seem to be more interested in smashing the union than making sure that hockey games are played.

Name the ones which could actually be revenue sustaining? If it could not work in half the cities now, how can it work in the future in those veues on a lesser scale? Most teams are gate revenue dominant.

Where would a new team play in: Boston, Toronto, Philly, Winnipeg

Adrian Dater of the Denver Post just said on twitter that one "NHL depth player" (not on the Avs) he talked to said players were ready to play again, but Donald Fehr came in on Wednesday and told them that they could get more and to hold out.

If that's really true, then... well... :censored: it all
