When Alan Trammell was the manager of some terrible Tigers teams, I remember his jersey being in the MLB Shop.

Yeah, but he was, of course, also a pretty good player with the Tigers back in the day. There were lots of Ozzie Guillen jerseys at USCF the last 8 years (even before the championship), but he was a fan-favorite in his playing days. I haven't been to a Sox game yet this season, but I imagine lots of people pulled Robin Ventura jerseys from the back of their closets, and still more will buy new ones.

You can buy pre-lettered Charlie Manuel "player" T's and jerseys.

Why? I have no idea... but at least a couple people must buy them.

I have seen a couple of Twins Gardenhire "Jersey T's" as well. That's why I know his uniform number (35).

Agreed. This is the dumbest concept MLB has come up with since turn forward the clock day. If you didn't exist in the 70's you don't get to wear 70's throwbacks. Period. Just wait another decade and your 90's jerseys will be real throwbacks anyway.

I'm a little torn on this one.

Part of me thinks that this is just harmless fun, and a good way to draw interest to a team that not many people seem to have any interest in. They did a nice job with the uniform (though I'm not sure why the number is on the right side of the jersey - I don't think anyone did that in the '70s) and I don't mind minor-league-style "theme" nights that much.

On the other hand, I really hope that nobody throws a perfect game, or does anything memorable in this game that would be captured in images for the ages, because I'd hate for something like that to happen and for people to be confused or have to question the uniform that the player is wearing instead of celebrating the feat.

Most likely, their throwbacks are normally on sale after they do it. I have a St. Pete Pelicans hat, and I saw a Tampa Tarpons one this weekend.

The caps were supposed to go on sale starting Monday at the store at the Trop and the team store in downtown Tampa. I've been busy the past few days but I'm gonna head to the stadium Thursday to pick one up before I go on vacation. I didn't grab a Pelicans cap right away and never got one, so I'm not gonna wait to get this.
