Square yokes might become more prevalent with next year's uniform changes, if there are any. Three teams unveiled square yokes this year, bringing the total to 5: Stars, Wild, Hurricanes, Rangers, Devils.

These are the changes I'd make to the Wild's green jersey, so that it matches the new road jersey better...

Put a red outline on the numbers, and I'm sold.

For all the bird de lis haters I think the bird de lis isnt supposed to be a pelican and a fleur de lis I think its just a fleur de lis with a pelicans head. Thats what it looks like to me. Also the flair around the tip of the beak is just flair that fleur de lis have sometimes source I am from NOLA.

The NHL just posted the new uniforms on their Facebook page, and of course, all the comments are along the line of "What's different?" "They look the same."

I know we post in a special community here, but holy :censored: .

The Wild followers on FB get it, but I guess average fans of other teams do not.

However, the post included two photos, and I saw one comment that seemed to think the two photos (which showed two different models of the new jersey) were "before" and "after".

Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse."

Even the players are chiming in...

Uncle, This is ridiculous! How about just releasing the jersey???

@BuffaloSabres @otterN9NE Hi Steve, we appreciate your excitement for the jersey, but we have a lot more pics to go before we unveil!

That is what a jersey change should be, one where the slightly casual fans may not even notice and still looks like the team without sacrificing anything really (like the hurricanes did).

They just basically took their striping from their green jersey and used it as the template for the white, and it looks good.

Very true. If you can look through pictures of a team through a couple decades and they look virtually the same. Youre doing something right.

I suppose so. As a proponent of teams having a "consistent identity", they should just be a natural progression/evolution. I'd say the Wild white jersey has achieved that (while their others have not done that so much).

The Twins home jersey is an example...changing the sleeve patch, updating the wordmark, adding NOB, removing nameplate. For the most part even Twins fans barely know the difference between 1987 and 2013 but I think it looks significantly better now.
