Does it have a special meaning for nut jobs ?Rodman wore #91 with the Bulls because his previous number with the Pistons and Spurs #10, had just been retired by the Bulls for Bob Love. 9+1= 10. Red Wings goalie prospect Petr Mrazek wore #2 at the World Juniors in 2012, not sure if he does in Grand Rapids. TheStoicPaisano
2 players with the number 99 faced eachother for the first time in MLB historyWaiting for an 88 Kyle Blanks-Josh Outman matchup. Last year, Outman came into pitch right after Blanks hit a double, but they never faced each other despite Colorado and San Diego playing nearly 20x in 2013.Oakland acquired Blanks right before wrapping their season series with Outman and the Tribe last week. Alas, the two once again did not face each other.

Santa gave them special sand-skates that allowed them to play in shorts and t-shirts in 115 degree weather. Jesus, Zeus and Buddha watched from the sidelines and ate cotton candy. TheOldRoman
Those who can't get their area codes will try to wear their birthdaysIt already happened. Carlos May of the White Sox was born on May 17th. He came up wearing 29, but switched to 17 so his jersey read "May 17."Also, with regards to players wearing 00 in the NBA, I wonder if they specifically outlaw 1-9 with a zero in front. I'm sure they do, otherwise we'd probably have seen several guys wear 05 back when FUBU was popular 15 something years ago.

Quillz
I don't think it's outlawed in the NFL.. Just not doneZero isn't an allowed number in the NFL.Under current rules in all three of the most prominent levels of American football (high school football, college football and professional football), all players must wear a number between 1 and 99, and no two players may wear the same number on the field at the same time; in the past, players have used the numbers 0, 00 and in two special cases 100. (0 and 00 are still allowed and used in Canadian football.) Those who wear numbers between 50 and 79 are, by rule, prohibited from catching or touching forward passes if their team is in possession of the ball, unless explicitly indicated to the referee during a Tackle-eligible play. Other than this, player numbers' correspondence to their positions is largely an issue of semantics. So the NFL used to allow the numbers, but not anymore.
