2013 NBA Playoffs

No, that lost it's cache' after last year. It was fun to imitate when the Heat lost to Dallas in 2011, but now it's just something where ardent Heat haters only grasp to it by taking Lebron literally, when he was only feeding the crowd.

I already resigned myself to three Heat championships under the Triple Alliance. That said, I hope they never get there. Two titles in a row is enough for the insufferable douches on South Beach.

That look Lebron had on his face when he first hoisted the Larry O'Brien trophy and the Finals MVP trophy was absolutely PRICELESS. It was a perfect dig at the haters. He earned that look.

To all hell in honesty...Game 7 was one of the most perfect, roller coaster games I've ever seen. Fluidly-called game, heartstopping shot after shot after shot, and the so many tic-tac chess moments. But at the end of the day, it's the Spurs showing age and the Heat showing how they got those 66 wins in the regular season. Congrats Miami on back-to-back titles...now let's forget this and move on to baseball season.

Eh, I don't really care anymore. Congrats, I guess.

Their "fans" don't deserve it though.

Bingo.

Even if I liked LeBron for winning championships, those Miami fair weathers destroy the last shred of respect I have for the Heat.

Fixed that first part for you.

Story B: Red Wings go undefeated and score 100 goals in every game. They also beat a team comprised of Godzilla, the ghost of Abraham Lincoln, 2 Power Rangers and Betty White. Oh, and they played in the middle of Iraq on a military base. In the sand. With no ice. Santa gave them special sand-skates that allowed them to play in shorts and t-shirts in 115 degree weather. Jesus, Zeus and Buddha watched from the sidelines and ate cotton candy.

So here's some "pointless" factoids:

-In the last 6 years, Kobe's Lakers and LeBron's Heat have won back-to-back titles in tail ends of three-straight Finals appearances. Both have won back-to-back series MVP's. Each had to win a Game 7 of the Finals to successfully complete the repeat attempt.

-LeBron has won both his titles on the 3rd Thursday in June. Last year, the Heat wrapped up the Finals in Game 5 on June 21, and now they won a Game 7 on this 3rd Thursday, June 20.

-Since 1998, Kobe, Duncan and now LeBron have won an NBA Finals Game 7 in their careers. And for all of you math freaks, they won their respective games exactly three days apart on a Thursday in June in the calendar (Kobe on June 17, 2010, LeBron on June 20, 2013, Duncan on June 23, 2005).

Says the Dodgers fan.

Might as well have just said "move on to Yasiel Puig".

Oh, and for your useless factoids:

*Two of the Heat's three championships were won on June 20. Game 6 against Dallas ended 95-92, and if the Spurs had held on in Game 6, that game may have conceivably ended 95-92.

I acknowledge his talent and understand he'll win at least two more before his time is done, but I sure as hell don't like him as a person or respect the fanbase that idolizes him.

And I'm not directly replying to Bucfan because I don't feel like looking at that stupid face throughout the rest of this thread.

Ditto here. For all the marvelous talent LeBron has, it's snotty, obnoxious showboating like tonight's title presentation which make people despise him. Funny, I never heard Magic, Larry, Jordan, Kobe, Duncan or any other NBA legend blatantly disrespecting his opponents and skeptics, all while posing for the cameras in all his ego-ness. It's kind of fitting how James fits in with such a vile and non-deserving fanbase.

And add LightsOut to people not wanting to reply directly.

Congrats to the Heat. So glad Lebron 100% delivered in a meaningful game from start to finish, so at least some of the irrational stuff will cease. Now on to more pressing matters: 1 superstar can only get you so far, and the Heat have proven that unless some changes are made, they're very close to a quick decline. What will Riley do now?

Hopefully Duncan doesn't retire, though Ginobili needs to go ASAP.

Tradition is the foundation of innovation, and not the enemy.

I really don't think Le Bron is that bad of a guy.

He mishandled "The Decision." We forgive much worse athletes for much worse stuff than that much quicker.

As much as I dislike the whole concept of "building super teams", I actually do want LeBron to end up with a good number of rings. He toiled for seven years in Cleveland and got nothing put around him--Big time free agents don't go to non-cosmopolitan cities where the weather sucks--and everyone acted like not winning a bunch of titles meant something was wrong. So I am glad for him, but I really, really, hope this superteam crap is not going to go on forever, or just contract my team now.

Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse."

Let's see what LeBron can do without that albatross Wade around his neck.

I'm must not have been watching the same presentation you were. First thing out of his mouth was giving respect to the Spurs then yes, he did stick it to his detractors. He gave them a taste of their own medicine. That's not snotty or egotistic, that's a grown man getting fed up with the hate and taking a moment he earned to shove his frustration in their faces.

I can't tell anyone how to feel but it seems like taking shots at LeBron, at this point is just not warranted.

Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant's whole careers were just giant obnoxious showboating.

And LeBron James has no control over how the fan base acts. That's like getting mad at Coca-Cola because the neighbor you don't like drinks Coke all the time.
