bosrs1
Can we just encourage ISIS to invade Qatar?Wow really? That has to be the worst comment I've ever seen on this board.
Evil Doctor
It's a all a moot point, it's only a matter of time before the entire middle-east is embroiled in a total war sectarian conflict. The World Cup will never be played Qatar....

That has to be the worst comment I've ever seen on this board.Would you prefer the slave rebellion? ISIS would likely be a less bloody form of regime change, and would conveniently hold both the Saudi's and Iranian's collective feet to the fire. If we need bases, we still have Kuwait and Bahrain.Win win from a US perspective. JasonFromMiami
Most WC finals end in 0-0 and a penalty shoot out, so to be fair, all other WC´s were also "Monumental Disasters"

NJTank
In the USA we have stadiums ready made for the World Cup. There are dozens of Soccer stadiums and if we need larger crowds NFL stadiums vacant in the summer ready for games. raysox
That's why the US was the best candidate to replace Qatar. We could literally host a tournament every summer on short notice and fill 60,000 seats. But we didn't bribe anyone, and we'll have to wait for 2026. But yes, I agree those were some of the best games. Granted the Dutch loss in South Africa was also the most painful, lol. You're missing quite a few. How about 3-0 in '98? or 2-0 in '02? Go back much further and you'll see the shackles off. In 20 World Cup Finals, a total of 71 goals have been scored, divide that by 20 games, and you get an average of 3.55 goals per game. Far from the 0-0 bore that "most" World Cup Finals are, which has only happened once in 20 games. Once. Please at least do you research before trying to trash soccer as a whole. BBTV
Triple the goal size, but add a second goalie. raysox
Usually the teams in the finals have great defenses. Teams giving up 3 goals a game are typically weeded out. Quote @MichaelDanger19 | Dribbble
UnclearInitial
Usually the teams in the finals have great defenses. Teams giving up 3 goals a game are typically weeded out. That, and finals of any kind in soccer are usually highly nervous, tactical encounters. And refs are usually reluctant to make calls that could swing a game and either call everything a foul or never draw cards (except for Argentina 90)
UnclearInitial
And who says a 0-0 can't be a good game? Italy's semifinal vs. Germany in 2006 is widely regarded as one of the best games of this past decade, and it was 0-0 until the 119' minute
