Wow, a football team in Georgia at the big stage is on the right side of a comeback this time.

Aaand now on the wrong side. I wouldn't have minded Georgia losing by a hundred but this game's been pretty awesome so far. Oklahoma looked like they were toast.

Really felt like Oklahoma got too conservative there at the end and, beyond that, I really didn't like either of their big third and two calls (end of regulation and in double OT).  Great, great game, though.

Great, we're gonna get an all-SEC championship game (for a second time). And people thought the CFP system would've prevented this?

It should still be a decent game, but it's not a game that I'm going to watch.

Ratings will be horrible just like last time. And Alabama will probably win the national title without even winning their division yet again.

Yeah, any outcome that doesnt have Bama winning the title in an absolute snoozer will shock the hell outta me.

Yep... got really excited for the UGA win, only to see the disappointing Bama win a few hours later. I went from excited to see a decent game to bored already and annoyed because of the obsession from ESPN for the SEC National Championship game... ??? I won’t be watching that junk

Bama winning the title without a great resume/a challending schedule, not winning division/conferenc,e would set new tone for college football teams years to come.

Things I thought were college football reliables:

Don't lose late

You can't finish 2nd in your division

You HAVE to win your conference

You can't have a light resume

Don't fatten up on cupcakes

Bama basically could change that.

Go Georgia.

When the season started, Alabama was hailed for scheduling the biggest season opener in college football history, against a recent national champion that started the year ranked No. 3. Let's not sit here and act like Alabama deliberately scheduled four cupcakes in their non-conference slate, and let's not sit here and act like this Alabama team isn't only in the playoff because there were only three teams with a particularly good case. USC wins at Washington State? Alabama's out. Ohio State wins at Iowa? Ditto.

"Go 11-1 against a weak schedule" is not, and will never be, a reliable path to making a four-team playoff.

Those Michigan uniforms are bad.  Not sure why they insist on coming out with new looks on the biggest stages.  Other than the helmets, I didn't even know that was Michigan - I thought maybe there was other D1 teams with similar helmet / uniform, like Delaware in 1AA.

I'd like them a lot better if the colors were reversed - yellow shoulders and navy numbers.  At least it'd be closer to their usual road uni, while still being different enough to satisfy their baffling need to fix what ain't broke.

Both teams had to earn their way to the championship game by beating a good team so it's not nearly close to being the same farce that was the Alabama-LSU national championship game. That game kept me from watching college football for two years because it was such a betrayal to the regular season and exploitation of the system to set up a rematch nobody asked for. LSU beat Alabama that year, to ask them to beat them a second time under that system where regular season games essentially act as the playoff was wholly unfair. Now we have a playoff so it's a little easier to declare that these are the two best teams.

I still probably won't watch the game.

The simple fact of the matter is that Alabama did not win their conference championship. They should not have been in the playoff. Until the playoff expands to a format that requires at large teams, winning a conference championship should be a prerequisite. The fact that Bama made it in just makes this look like the SEC lovefest farce that ESPN so dearly wants it to be.
